I've had an Eastman E6SS-TC for about 3 months, it's really really good in every way but I can't get over how good the fretwork and neck finish, fret ends etc are, it's so well finished, smooth as silk 😊😊😊
Dude, that’s awesome! I have thought about that too. Not sure if I want to go that route for the slope shouldered dreadnought or go Eastmans version of the Martin d28. I’ve never owned a slope shoulder, but they sound incredible!
I agree with you. I bought 2 Eastmans a 10 OM-LTD and a 10 00 SB which I like even better. Going to trade the 10 OM towards a Rosewood model.. So happy with these choices. I love the OM but do not need 2 Mahogany guitars. These guitars are so much bang for the buck. You can get an equally good Martin for 3 or 4x the money.
Did you never sum up all the money for your Eastman guitars and came to the conclusion that IT would have been better to have maybe only one guitar like a Martin or whatever more expensive guitar comes to mind?! I calculate around 5000 USD für all the Eastmans which would have alliowed you to buy a fantastic used Martin Authentic or other high quality guitar, even whithout losing Money, which you already did by trading the Eastmans... Cheers.
@@JoshuaKrell oh you wouldn't want to know how long it's been lol. I have a Eastman F20OM-SB which I love. But I have a thin crack running from the first bridge pin to the last one on the bridge. The repair shop ran a little crazy glue along the crack. The guitar sounds fine but could you give me any problems that a thin crack like that could cause with overall sound quality of the guitar.
That sounds like a humidity issue man! I’ve had a couple students with cracks running the whole way down that the same glue fix. If it becomes an issue you can always have a luthier replace the bridge.
Dan! Love to hear that! I have a student with a T486 who loves it as well! The QC at Eastman seems to be very very good! I had my 14th student in the last year pick up an Eastman last week. Every model I’ve seen is sublime!
@@JoshuaKrell yeah they seem to be really great. I’m lookin for an acoustic somewhere under €1000. I like grand auditoriums and ooo style guitars. Any recommendations? Hi from 🇮🇪 by the way!
Thank you for the video. I have three Eastman guitars. The similar spec model dreadnaught and 00 body. I also have a less expensive but solid wood 000. These truly are great guitars at amazing prices. I own a Martin 0015 and just sold a Gibson L00. It was so difficult to hear the difference between the 00 and Gibson. My Eastman dreadnaught sounds amazing. I think they are under appreciated. I am still a Martin fan but I think I need to check out this model. Thank you
Absolutely agree! I have owned numerous Martins and Taylors. This little Eastman has actually out performed all of them! And held its own with several very high end guitars that I’ve recorded it against.
It’s a magnet actually for the Soundbrenner Metronome smart watch, which does have a tuner built in. But that part you see is just the magnet that allows the smart watch head to attach. It’s an adhesive that doesn’t damage the finish. I don’t have it on there anymore.
If I could find a good one I would buy it - in natural rather thanSB. And I would do so for: the 12" fretboard radius, and the shorter scale length, as well as the ease of playing sitting down (as opposed to all my dreads!).
I’ve had 4 clients but this same guitar both in the natural and sunburst edition. All four were bought from different retailers and all have been absolutely impeccable. On the flip side not to shoot out at Martin. But I’ve had at least a dozen students buy Martin guitars ranging from $800-$6000 and there have been QC issues all across. That was including a high end D-41 shipped straight from the factory that was fretting out due to incorrectly cut but and saddle. That’s unfortunate as you should never have those kind issues on a guitar with that price tag.
@@JoshuaKrell Thanks. I bought a new D-28 on the internet that had the neck leaning so far back (negative relief I guess you could call it) that the saddle bridge had to be shimmed just to play it. I sent it back.
I teach closer to 90 students a week now… not all are full hour students. I have a lot of half hour students but between prep and session time it’s definitely a 80-90 hr every week commitment at least.
So torn between this and the E20SS. As a new player (2years) coming from playing a grand auditorium type guitar I'm really unsure and have no way to try before buying where I live. Mainly home playing and the small, unplugged 'open mic' nights. Was originally thinking the SS for the extra volume, but this thing sounds like it packs a punch!
So the E20SS is a much different guitar. It’s a slope shoulder dread based on the Gibson J45. It will sound much larger than the E20OM. The E20OM will have a much more focused, clear bell like tone. I have found it much more easily recordable than any larger dreadnoughts I own and have recorded. A lot of times with larger dreadnoughts you end up with so much woofiness you just have to carve around with eq. However, the E20OM will never have the low end response that the SS does or overall volume. That being said if you are coming from a grand auditorium size you will likely be much more comfortable on the E20OM than the SS, as the smaller size is closer in sound to a grand auditorium than the slope shoulder dreadnought.
Great smooth, consistent playing! It’s nice to hear a guitar player playing tasteful things one might play during a real recording session. I’ve never heard of Stringjoy strings. Do you recommend them?
Thanks so much for the kind words David! StringJoy is incredible! They are a small company out of Nashville. Not only to they sound incredibly sweet to ear but the people are incredible and hand sign every order thanking their customers. Incredible customer support as well! Highly recommend.
Guitar sounds great! I almost purchased one of these a few months back, but went with a Breedlove legacy. But I have to say wow I might have to reconsider on my next purchase!
Honestly man! I’ve played through so many of their guitars now and hands down all of them have outplayed the extremely higher end martins aka $7k and above that I have in through my studio every week with clients. They’re insane! But Breedlove’s are good too. I have a few buddies who have American made breedlove’s that are beautiful!
@@JoshuaKrell wow that good? I’m going to have to buy one!! I live in North Dakota and the nearest dealer is 5 hours away. So I haven’t been able to try any of them out. Have you ever played the E20D?
I just actually had a student buy a Martin D41 that had issues straight from the Martin Factory. So he sent it back and traded it in for the Eastman E20D. Beautiful guitar! I’m going to be buying one myself later this year!
@@JoshuaKrell I’ve heard many people having issues with Martin’s the past few years. My dream guitar is a d35 but I think my next purchase will be the E20D as well!!
Me too man! Another student actually literally a week ago she bought a cheaper American made Martin, prob in the $2800 range and it had the same specs as my current Eastman in terms of wood and size and dimensions. Literally after playing my Eastman she sent the Martin back and bought the same guitar. The Martin literally had jagged frets sharp enough to prick finger all the way up the neck and the nut was not filed down low enough either. Quality control I think is becoming lax at Martin. Cause every Eastman model I’ve played had perfectly smooth frets and near perfect setup right out of the box.
I played the Yamaha Red Label FS5 and was less than impressed after seeing and reading all the hype surrounding them. I think these are significantly better sounding guitars.
Very similar. I just had a Martin in here the other day with the low oval neck. It’s very comfortable on the Eastman. I would say it’s a little more slender to my touch if just by a tiny bit.
☑️ I agree Eastman _have the AC308CE ‼️😊 I even have a Recording King RO-328 that puts my Martin OOO-42 to some shame cause it costs me six times as much , but in some respects the RK is better than the Martin 🥺 🙂

Bella chitarra certamente . Visto il prezzo però? meglio spendere allora qualcosa in più ,e portarsi a casa una Martin . Di sicuro suona meglio e mantiene ben altro valore nel tempo .

Is that a tuner on the back of the headstock at the 1:00 mark? If so what kind is it?
