Where did you buy this exposed portafilter? I did not find a suitable size that is compatible with the Noon East machine. Please tell me where did you buy the exposed portafilter
Hi! I’ve watched this video several times hehe! Does it really make a difference in making a good espresso if I buy the same porta filter na ginamit mo po? 😅😅😅
Is it not possible to get crema on the espresso without the non pressurised portafilter? I ordered mine still didnt recieve it yet. But I watching tutorials beforehand to be able to use it and yours was the best one so far And my biggest worry is not getting a good shot of espresso cuz then the whole coffee tastes bad. Btw are you a barista?
Hey there! I’m actually not a professional barista at all. i’m a visual designer who just happens to also love home brewing and have the tendency to nerd out on things honestly 😆😆😆 but to answer your question… There are plenty of variables in creating a good shot of espresso. Entry-level espresso machines like this are ideally targeted for home brewing beginners who might not have a grinder at home nor keen enough to go through all the aspects in creating the cafe-style espresso. That’s why, most often than not, they come with pressurized baskets. it’s more forgiving with grind size making it easy to use pre-ground grocery coffee. Depending on the freshness of ur beans, it is able to create faux foamy crema bec of the added pressure from the basket. Here’s the thing tho…. Espresso (or coffee in general) is all about the TASTE. Crema is only an indication of how fresh your coffee is. But technically, the crema itself does not impact the taste of the espresso. While it can seem that a good crema is the definition of a perfect cup of espresso, it is not as critical as some make it out to be. in reality, it is absolutely possible to have a great tasting cup of espresso without the perfect crema. If you enjoy your cup, that's really all that matters. Don't get the crema blues or think that you somehow failed at your attempts to pull a good shot. Remember, the beans, roast, and technique play a big role and one or all of those may not sway things in your favor. Hope this helps!
@@VixenYoung yeah you did successfully nerd out about espresso to the point I assumed you're a professional barista😂. Thank you for the advise, for the longest time I believed perfect espresso means perfect crema even tho I never made espresso by my own hands before, I used to judge it based on cafe espressos. But now I learned the truth. Can you tell me which type of roast beans make the best espresso? Also if you could mention some coffee bean brands for it that's found in the middle east it would be great. Thank you😊
Hello. Thanks for your video it helps po lalo na for first time user. I would like to ask po I have no personal grinder kasi so I bought lang ground fine coffee. Okay lang po ba yun since I read all the comments po is mas better tlga fresh grind ☺️ One last question po yung third party portafilter po, yung kasama nyang basket ano po pala function nun. Sorry to ask. Salamat ☺️♥️
Hey there :) First off, these are really great questions! I’m glad you asked. Re: Pre-ground Coffee vs Freshly Ground Coffee If you grind coffee, a lot of the flavours and aromas will start to get lost. Esp If u dont consume It right away, it can then create a flat brew and taste stale. So imagine coffee that’s been pre-ground and sold in groceries. I’m not saying they’re stale and expired hahaha 😆. But note that they have been displayed on the shelf for quite some time and will eventually lose all its gases. That’s why, for those who have been asking why they don’t have ‘crema’ from their extraction, it’s most likely your beans have degassed and are not as fresh anymore. If u want the most flavor and aroma out of coffee, it is best to grind right before brewing. But here’s the thing... aside from all that technical hullabaloo, TASTE is subjective. And if you have a favourite pre-ground bag of coffee, then it’s all that matters. Don’t let anyone rain on ur parade. ❤️ Re: 3rd party bottomless portafilter and baskets I like using a bottomless portafilter bec it teaches me a lot about my prep (coffee grind, distribution technique, tamp weight and channeling). And the extra baskets are important depending on how many grams of coffee i’d like to extract in a cup. A ‘single’ basket can fit 7g-10g ground coffee, a ‘double’ basket can fit 16g-18g while the triple can fit up to 21g of coffee. Ofcourse, more coffee equals more caffeine. The stock portafilter from the noon east uses a ‘single’ pressurized basket. Meaning, its intended usage is for pre-ground coffee. So don’t fret if you dont have a grinder (yet?😆). This machine is definitely first time user friendly! ❤️
@@VixenYoung Thank you so much for your response. Appreciate it 💖 One last thing, I bought na yung porta filter thirdparty same sa your and 51MM Dolin. Nag try ako mag brew with proper tamping I guess pinush ko sya tlga, parang andami coffee na nabrew nya half ng baso ko. Ibig sabhin ba pang more than 1 cup of coffee po yung 1MM. Tsaka pagka brew po ba once naka off na yung green light stop ko na? I hope you can answer. First time ko mag brew almost half yun tasa ko sa coffee then sobra tuloy 20ML ko na gatas. Huhu
@Laag-Laag ni Inday hello po! If u bought the same portafilter i have, that means you have a ‘double’ basket which can fit 16g-18g of freshly ground coffee. If you see in my video, i use scales to measure up everything from how much ground coffee I put in my portafilter and an espresso scale to measure how much coffee I can brew out into my cup. Lahat po yun naka measure by weight kc to get the perfect espresso extraction, the recommended ratio for a double shot of espresso (like sa starbucks) is 1:2 to 1:2.5. This means po if you put in 16g of coffee, you’ll need to extract about 32g-40g of coffee into your cup. You’ll have to manually push the button to turn it off even before the green light turns off. Than you can add about 200ml milk into your cup for a good cup of delicious cappuccino. Let me know if this works for you! ❤️
Hello po. Mas okay po ba ang fine grind vs medium for this kind of machine po? Thank you. And great video by the way. Mas naintindihan ko pano gamitin ung machine 😊
Awww thanks, Ayesha! Fine espresso grind is the way to go po 😃 But if you’re using the portafilter that comes with the machine, it’s more forgiving with the grind size since it uses a pressurized basket. I’ve tried experimenting with medium to coarse grind coffee (i used really strong dark beans BTW), and they’ve extracted well enough. Hope this helps!
hello po sa stock portafilter ilang shots or ml/g of espresso yung mapoproduce? double shot po ba yun or single lang? salamat! Great review btw more coffee lessons pls!
Hello there! Single basket lang po cya eh. Depending on the beans, you can fit about 7g-10g but i’ve managed to grind fine enough to fit 12g 😆 with the stock pf. But I am able to pull a standard double espresso shot by extracting about 14g-18g with a proper sized basket in a bottomless portafilter. Thank you for the kind words!
With the stock portafilter, it’s usually a single shot. Make sure to weigh your output too so you get a decent pull and consistency. 1:2-2.5 is a good starting point And yes, always new grounds after every shot. :)
@@VixenYoung Should I get this or a 3.5 bar capacity? Given I don't drink cappuccinos or lattes much but rather prefer simple americano with a little milk.

It actually does cool down a bit as I would froth my milk. But I don’t really mind it that much. Otherwise, I would suggest to froth the milk first and then extract the espresso.
Hey Julius! Re: extraction time - depending on beans, i would usually pre-infuse for 5secs+ ( manually done by pressing the brew button. Once i see drops of coffee, i turn it off and wait 5sec. Some would refer this as a blooming phase). I would target at about 25-30sec total extraction including pre-infusion/pre-wet/bloom. Re:temp - The day i got my machine, i was able to test the temp @ around 85°C. I figured at that temp, i’d really just prefer darker roasts. Recently it's gone down to 75°C. I find that it helps bring up temp after backflushing or temperature surfing with the steam button.

Hii! I've been wanting to ask for a long time, where did you buy your bottomless portafilter? I bought one before, but it didn't fit because the ears were thick, it didn't lock when I put it in. Hoping that you'll respond. Thank you!
Hi! What is your review after months of using??
Thank you for this review! Very pretty + informative. I plan to buy a Noon for my room and for me to use when I move back to the city. May I know what tamper you used/link, if any? 😌
Thanks, Nikki! You can find all the links at the description box above. 😃
Bought this machine and I'm still struggling to make a silky froth. I thought I'm doing the right angle and stuff and i can see a vortex but the result is always the same. I want to make a latte art too 😭
Hi po may idea po ba kayo where makabili ng double mouth bottomless portafilter?
Where did you buy this exposed portafilter? I did not find a suitable size that is compatible with the Noon East machine. Please tell me where did you buy the exposed portafilter
Hey there! I posted a link on the description box. Hope you can check it out. Thank you!
can u pls tell if the coffee machine is good or not because i am trying to buy one
Hi! I’ve watched this video several times hehe! Does it really make a difference in making a good espresso if I buy the same porta filter na ginamit mo po? 😅😅😅
Hi. Am having trouble using mine as the switch lights dont come on in sequence as depicted on your tutorial. Am i doing something wrong?
Awesome review! Salamat!
Hey there! I’m actually not a professional barista at all. i’m a visual designer who just happens to also love home brewing and have the tendency to nerd out on things honestly 😆😆😆 but to answer your question…
There are plenty of variables in creating a good shot of espresso.
Thank you😊
is noon east can use delonghi portafilter or other brand?
Hello. Thanks for your video it helps po lalo na for first time user. I would like to ask po I have no personal grinder kasi so I bought lang ground fine coffee. Okay lang po ba yun since I read all the comments po is mas better tlga fresh grind ☺️
One last question po yung third party portafilter po, yung kasama nyang basket ano po pala function nun. Sorry to ask. Salamat ☺️♥️
Hey there :) First off, these are really great questions! I’m glad you asked.
Re: Pre-ground Coffee vs Freshly Ground Coffee
If you grind coffee, a lot of the flavours and aromas will start to get lost.
Re: 3rd party bottomless portafilter and baskets
I like using a bottomless portafilter bec it teaches me a lot about my prep (coffee grind, distribution technique, tamp weight and channeling).
Appreciate it 💖
One last thing, I bought na yung porta filter thirdparty same sa your and 51MM Dolin.
Hi, been weeks using Noon east, hirap pa din po ako mag steam ng milk for latte
Loved the video ❤️
Would you mind sending me the link of the shop where you bought your tamper?
How long Does it take for the light to turn green
May i know the size of your portafiller that u bought?
From where the non-pressurized you can add the link please
What's the size of the wooden portafilter that you bought ?
Hi what brand of naked portafilter you use in your noon machine? Because I bought for my noon machine but its not fit in its nouza 51mm.
Did you find the right size portafilter?
@@arslantariq3407 yes thank you so much I change it in Amazon.
hello po sa stock portafilter ilang shots or ml/g of espresso yung mapoproduce? double shot po ba yun or single lang?
@@VixenYoung thank you so much for replying! mukhang kukuha na po ako nung bottomless portafilter inspired by your video haha.
PERFECT!!!
😍
Hey! How much espresso shots can we get in a single brew? Like do I have to use new ground coffee after one shot?
With the stock portafilter, it’s usually a single shot. Make sure to weigh your output too so you get a decent pull and consistency. 1:2-2.5 is a good starting point
And yes, always new grounds after every shot. :)
@@VixenYoung Should I get this or a 3.5 bar capacity? Given I don't drink cappuccinos or lattes much but rather prefer simple americano with a little milk.
@@syedahiba9664 absolutely! ❤️ That sounds like a lungo. Ultimately, your preference is what matters most. 😉
I would like to ask about the size of the Portafilters for this machine?
Hey there! This machine uses a 51mm portafilter. More info in my description box. Hope this helps!

Hi, I'll be using my noon east espresso machine for tge first time but I've been having problems using it. There's no water flowing out of it!!! I don't know what to do hehe do u have any tips?
Hi Jade! Someone in the comment section asked the same question as well. If it's your first use, I'd say it's a factory defect. Please contact your seller right away. :)
Thank you for this!!

Hi. I have this machine, but still using the stock portafilter. Na experience nyo po ba na nag auto eject yung portafilter?

I just wanna ask if you could share the shopee link where you purchased your porta filter and baskets. I'd appreciate it a lot. And not to mention your DP looks familiar. Hey there! Size is 51mm po. Make sure the bottomless portafilter is the one that fits the Noon East and not the one for Delonghi. Sometimes some people I know get mistaken and end up selling or giving it away.

Have you found the right size portafilter?
Does the coffee stay hot after milk frothing?
It actually does cool down a bit as I would froth my milk. But I don’t really mind it that much.
Otherwise, I would suggest to froth the milk first and then extract the espresso.
Hi, mam ilng seconds po yung extraction time nio and the temperature of the water from the group head po.. thank you so much
