    Intel will be a beast in 2030 and beyond.. Also, if you can educate the public on the assets and liabilities of these semiconductor companies. Which is a very big part of long-term investing.. It was just a thought..😊

      It could be, they have quite the hole to dig out of, and it's going to take time. We agree, it will take more than just a few years time.

    Intel reminds me of Microsoft back in the early 80's...

    I loaded up on intel in mid 20s because the market was way too pessimistic compared to the numbers and the science, and acted like the company was going out of business.

    Another great episode, I always look forward to new episode. Out of the Fab 5 I own ASML and KLAC. I am considering selling out of KLAC and opening a position in LRCX or TOELY. Any thoughts on TOELY? Could we possibly see an episode focused on them? Also, love the analysis, but want to point out that KLAC has better, and stellar, Return on Equity (ROE); Return on Assets (ROA); gross margins, operating margins and net margins. Lam also has great fundamentals but KLA is a particular standout. That said, given estimates for growth over the next few years, I agree Lam looks like the better investment choice.

    • @chipstockinvestor
      @chipstockinvestor  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey there, great comments @cbpolitico! KLAC's shareholder returns have been as spot-on as their metrology equipment. We certainly will take nothing away from them, and we're happy to keep holding the position we have.
      As for TOELY, it's been a while since we did an update. We're getting lots of questions on process steps, so we may address them again soon. The only reason we don't have it out of the "fab 5" is because we don't want to deal with currency exchange rate stuff and thus have a bias towards the US cos. That's really it, TOELY and some of the other Japanese fab equipment companies are top notch.

    Iam confused by their future programmable chip spin off. So are they focusing strictly on manufacturing or is the future ipo strictly different type of semiconductor

    • @chipstockinvestor
      @chipstockinvestor  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. The PSG (programmable) segment are FPGAs they acquired from Altera in 2015. It competes with AMD/Xilinx, Lattice Semi, and some others. It will be spun off as an independent chip design segment at some point in the next few years. Intel is doing this to raise cash to build its manufacturing (IFS) segment.

    • @SeanDraper-r5q
      @SeanDraper-r5q 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@chipstockinvestor I see seems that spin off may be more profitable then the foundry if u look at chip growth rate stocks like nvidia, amd, marvel etc vs tsm. Iam kinda fed up with intel cuz I bought too much and had too high expectations and now confused since they are all over the place with spin offs and what they are trying to do. Now they have that articul8 spin off, mobileye spin off, now chip spin off. I think iam going to sell most as soon as I can break even

    Tired of the AI buzzword. Im pretty sure Intel just means machine learning. As i dont see why you want to implement mimicing human behavior in this context.

    Great insight. I own ASML and LRCX and plan to keep long term. Always watching AMAT if a good entry point happens, but since I have good exposure to the equipment companies, my higher priority would be to own SNPS or CDNS for exposure to the EDA part of the semiconductor flow chart.
