    Nice one for uploading this Adzee. It’s great to hear it at 45 after all these years. Fabio would regularly rinse this at the Blue Note and Speed. 🙌

    I lived and breathed this tune for years, still one one my favourites. Big Drum n Bass fan growing up and Carl Craig led me to Detroit Techno - another amazing art form. This is fire!!!

    what about MEAT BEAT MANIFESTO'S "RADIO BABYLON?" 1989. please, we can play many things from the past at the wrong speed and claim it started jungle. know your fucking history.

    The story of this record is pretty interesting. Carl Craig released this jazzy / avant-gardiste title but success did not occur. Then, 2 British DJ's found it amazing, put it in 45rpm and slowed down the pitch. In one second, they invented the jungle with this specific super fast breakbeat… It was played for years and became an anthem in every jungle parties.

      correction.....was not played at jungle events,this tune became popular at speed which had fabio and bukem as residents

      Loïc Dury affirmed the opposite on the DVD "25 years of Radio Nova". His guest was Terry Riley. Hoax or different references for jungle parties at this time?

      This is such nonsense. In no way shape or form is this song responsible for creating a genre that already existed. This was released in 1996. Hardcore was turning into jungle around 92 and by 94/95 it was is full swing and you can easily verify everything I've said. This is pure misinformation.

    • @thermosir
      @thermosir 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@ikeaaron You are both right and wrong. It didn't create a/the genre (no one tune did, obviously), but it was a seminal tune played by Fabio and Grooverider at Rage in 91/92. 96 was the re-issue with remixes.

    was this switched to 45 on a turntable or was it done digitally to a file, it sounds just a tad too fast, but its late and im tired

    the looped drums are lifted from a piece by the percussionist francisco mora catlett. i wonder in all due respect if good carl has ever sent him a penny.

      You want to explain how it was "lifted" if he played shows with the group and is credited on the records?

      @@stopnotplayin i have no authority to explain, i have not asserted, just assumed. replace the word lifted by the word used and good is.
