There a picture of me stubbornly balancing on (and making rock apparently) one of those very short/floor level kiddy rocking horses, pacifier in either hand (which are also thrown out for balance) and a third pacifier in my mouth. My parents tried Many, Many times to steer me away from standing on it. Zero luck. “Well, we’ll just supervise and let the kid fall. Sometimes kids have to learn the hard way. We tried.” Naturally my stubborn ass *never fell while doing this* and it’s like. YEP. That’s Me in a nutshell. When I’m not anxious into a stupor, This Is Me 😅🤣🤣

I actually remember burning my skirts and dresses in my trash can in my room so I wouldn’t have to wear them anymore. Definitely the most rebellious trans thing I’ve ever done.
I tore up a few old photos (my parents had extra copies tho) and also my friend helped be destroy (ripping up + [safely] burning) my old student ID with my dead name and feminine photo
Jamies photos as a child reminds me of most of my childhood pictures, I was always pissed off or crying if I had to wear a dress and most of my happy photos are of me in jorts, dungarees or big baggy jeans , I was a massive tomboy and still prefer to wear jorts ,jeans or leggings as a grown woman in her early 40's . I am also a huge nerd so I tend to end up just buying bigger sized versions of my two teenaged son's clothing.

Sadly I never outgrew my “preteen teeth” 😅🤣 Good news: the gaps and Relatively Straight Enough teeth make them easy to clean, I can get away with forgetting to schedule dental hygeine/checkups appointments, and we decided as a teen/young adult still on parental insurance that “eh. Why bother for something that’d be really only cosmetic and very, very Expensive -for context: my brother’s underbite was shoving teeth into stacks and cutting the roof of his mouth.- …they still feel incredibly…juvenile. Learning to own them, anyway, I guess?

To me Jamie looked basically androgynous as a kid, until that last picture in puberty, which struck me as more feminine - hormones going into action. (Of course these are very superficial observations based strictly on my impressions of his appearance.) I don’t know how old you are; cis or trans, our bodies go through some weird and unique changes during puberty - and beyond. So please don’t see Jamie as some standard you need to achieve. You’re in a life-long process of becoming yourself! And that’s about a lot more than appearance. At 60, I’m still trying to unravel who I am 🤷🏼♀️ Likely you’ll make a lot more progress than I have 🙂
I'm sorry this triggered your dysphoria. Jamie has earlier videos that show him looking much more feminine after puberty when his very serious dysphoria was triggered. I don't know if any of his early videos might help you feel any better? Knowing his dysphoric struggles, too? Huge hugs. You are valid and loved as you are.
Same here, I looked like a typical "girly girl" through elementary school. In kindergarten and such I actually liked wearing dresses.. didn't help that I was also a pretty ugly baby lol. Can't even look at those pictures anymore-

I want to thank you because I discovered one of your videos in my recommended, and I learned what Genderfluid was, and I identified as that for a few months, but as I kept watching your videos and I noticed I relate more to the trans masc memes. Ironically my favorite childhood school photo of myself is my preschool photo where I’m wearing pink pants and a (candy cane style) pink and white striped shirt, despite me absolutely hating the color pink, lol. I think it’s just the combination of my awesome short haircut combined with the cut of the clothing against my body shape and the way the stripes look against my face that makes it so magical, but the pink being a darker shade also has a lot to do with it too, because I look way better in red so it’s very similar in nature that way I guess. Anyways I too have wildly cringy photos myself so I’m glad I’m not alone!

I always had the same fight with my mother about the dresses. I'm not trans, just tomboy but we didn't 'settle' on anything, in the end I had to wear the dress. I think the last time she made me wear one, I was 11 or so ... and then at grad but I now have all the family photos in my possession and got rid of everything with a dress.
