The Gibson SG Standard ‘61 returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played, and loved -- shaping sound across generations and genres of music. In 1961, the Les Paul™ model was put on hiatus, and an all-new design evolved into what is today known as the SG™ or “solid guitar.” The Gibson SG Standard '61, new from the Gibson Original collection retains the styling of the original featuring a SlimTaper™ mahogany neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard for superior comfort when riffing hard, or jamming through some slow blues. The mahogany body features deeply sculpted body scarfing, a 5-ply teardrop pickguard, and a 22nd-fret neck joint.
The nickel-plated hardware includes a classic-style Tune-O-Matic™ bridge and Keystone tuners. The pickups in this 1961 Gibson SG are 60s Burstbucker™ humbuckers™ for a classic voice with added power and top end. Your tone controls feature audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop® capacitors so you'll feel and hear every small change in volume or tone adjustment, ideal for blending pickups and using the toggle switch for playing dynamics.

I love that there’s metal playing in the background lol Gibson please make products and content for us metal heads out there that still love you.
Played one these at GC. Excellent instrument!
Just got one of these in Teal on sale brand new for 1599. Extremely happy with it.
I do like a slim taper neck.
When did they change the volume knob spacing?
Do these new ones still have a neck dive issue? I love these, especially the new colors.
some do, some dont. every one weighs a little different and balances a little different. Play some in person. I dont recommend buying one online. I made that mistake once. lol
@@blakesmolinski6821 makes total sense, the only reason I prefer buying online is I usually can scope a 10-15% discount on most gear if I call the online vendors directly. I'll call the big three, ask them their best price and I go with whoever gives the best. I tried buying a Charvel at GC once and I said, "what can you do on the price?" thinking I"d get at least 10% and the guy was like "nada, price is the price". I usually won't ask for a discount from a mom and pop place unless I'm buying a lot. I just hate paying full price on everything.
I will say mine is nowhere near as bad as other SGs I've played. I play mostly sitting down though.
No looking at your shoelaces when playing guitar, please. Nice guitar though.
The 1950 Fender Broadcaster / Telecaster was "the original solid guitar". Not the Gibson SG Standard.
You mean Bigsby?
Thing sounds like crap
Thank you Brian
