    As a JP main who gets in the corner! The side switch combo is very helpful 😊

    That throw counter combo is disgusting. I'd been looking for ways to combo off of amnesia, and this is beautiful

    Guys! Look at the screen for the combo notations. If you don’t know how to get most of these moves out these combos are probably a step advanced for you so learn all the moves in training and watch what he does. As for the strengths of buttons for normals just look at his screen. Slow the video down if you have to. It’s all there. He already did amazing work piecing this together it’s not too much to ask of us to just follow the screen notations. Also, @DarkSynth has an amazing JP video with bold typed out screen notations. Get used to that stuff then come back here and you’ll be up to speed. This video is like a different arrangement of combos and they’re both amazing. Good work guys.

      Hey thanks. I forgot to mention I also have a video out with all of the combo notations on screen for beginner/intermediate players as well :)

    the side switch combo is insane

    • @Haldeon
      @Haldeon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yea the side switch is really good! If you react to a di in the corner and you dont want to be in the corner anymore, there you go :)

    4:03 I always do that combo (a little easier version) just to flex on my opponent XD

      Haha yes the lvl two combos are the best way to style. Going for resets off of them is really good as well!

      Id love to put the combo notation up and edit videos more carefully but unfortunately its hard with work and other obligations taking up so much time D: My combo videos will definitely have all the notations on screen though!

    nah you dont need this stuff. I got to diamond in 1 day and this is all i did:
    Crumple: jump hk-DR-stmk-HP QCF-bnb ender shit
    any low or jab i ended with qcf LP
    drive rush-crmk-crlp-qcf lp
    corner anytime i could do FHK-qcf HP-sthp-QCF mk
    punish: crhp-QCF HP-stuff
    you dont need to be super creative to be good with jp. just do random zoning shit and learn how people act when you zone and thats all you need to do. games stupid easy.

    • @Haldeon
      @Haldeon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on what your definition of good is. If youre happy with diamond then sure you can easily not explore the character and not optimize and still get there. If you want to be relevant in tournaments you obviously have to delve deeper into the character. IMO diamond is still a beginner level with a character. But ranked isnt a good way to judge skill level in this game anyway since its so easy to get master with pretty much any character.

    • @yourstillwithme
      @yourstillwithme ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Haldeon Thats because the skill gap in this game is complete dogshit because its so easy. I have 15 characters Diamond already lol.
      Sorry bro, I dont care to learn the dogshit game at a high level because its pointless.
      you literally have TOP PLAYERS WHO ARE WINNING EVENTS saying the game is awful
      AND you have drive rush eating inputs when performed. Thats awful game design.

    This video is pretty disingenuous. These are cool training room only combos that you might actually land in 1/100th of your actual fights after you've actually mastered them, but this is far beyond "starting out". Like seriously, how often will someone be full screen and just standing there, letting you initiate a full screen combo? Never, when the skill required for some of these actually matters.

    • @Haldeon
      @Haldeon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The dummy is just standing at full screen because that's what the dummy is set to do. These situations come up a lot in matches.
      1st situation: How often is the opponent knocked down fullscreen and you set up heavy snap? If you throw a medium fireball (the overhead one) and it connects you can do the fullscreen combo. It happens literally every time you get a knockdown as JP.
      2nd situation: How often do you get a knock down with JP using his light slash and have level 2? I'm gonna bet this happens nearly every game. If you feel like you can close out the round, or the opponent is burned out, go for the level 2 and mix them up. Very common situation.
      3rd situation: How often do you get a stun? This combo is pretty easy too. There are 1000% more complicated combos you can do in this situation.
      4th situation (Corner mixups): How often do you get a wall splat with DI? Super common. These setups are not hard.
      5th situation: How often do you react to DI and get a punish counter with your own while in the corner. DI is a common option for the opponent to go for when you are cornered (ESPECIALLY AT LOW LEVEL). This helps you get out of the corner while putting your opponent in the corner. Very common.
      6th situation: How often does the opponent go for a throw while you are cornered? Considering throw loops are in this game...a shit ton is a good estimate. If you ex counter this is a good combo. This is admittedly probably the hardest thing in the video to execute. Still not too bad.
      7th situation: Don't use this one, it was just for fun.
      None of this stuff is very complicated or difficult. Just sit in training mode for like an hour and figure it out.

    • @SydneySininen
      @SydneySininen ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Haldeon yeah I find the corner mix after DI especially helpful. I think you picked a wide range of situations

    • @SydneySininen
      @SydneySininen ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is a bit frustrating how you had the drive gauge refill in some of the combos so it's a bit hard to intuit how expensive they'll be ingame but I can amend that by practicing for myself

    • @Haldeon
      @Haldeon  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SydneySininen Ahh yea I can definitely turn on the option to have it not refill next time.
