REResistance: Rusty Wasteland Squad vs. Daniel's Clown Army

- In a full team with the rusty-but-powerful LCMusho playing Sam, Bellicose_Nivans playing Valerie, and ChefRobMedina playing Martin. Musho hadn't played in several months, and Bellicose and Rob had been spending most of their recent time playing Killer Klownz instead. And although I had been getting back into it with some solo matches and duo matches, I also hadn't played enough to feel like I was back in the groove. So we were all kinda rusty in a way!
This was against a Daniel who I recognized as being the same MM in "Three-Manning an Annoying Terminal Spencer," so I anticipated them to be difficult. And they were! Just maybe not in the way I was expecting. Area 1 seemed to go pretty well, except for one moment where I stepped on an obvious trap, and another wherein, while trying to ward off the MM's controlled dealer with KASHIMAs, the jester behind him screamed, allowing the MM to pounce on Musho (Little did we realize, it was a sign of what was to come). Area 2 also went pretty well, although preset jesters once again stunned us while we tried to take Yorick out. Musho was able to avoid Mr. X and some controlled creatures with some well-timed finishers, and I was finally able to start timing out a few cameras. At the terminal upstairs, I made the mistake of rushing into the room and straight into the MM's controlled creature, as I hadn't realized until after I stepped in that Musho had been teleported out... but despite all that, we were able to get the terminals done and make it to area 3 with plenty of time.
In area 3, however, not only did a massive horde await us outside, but there were several preset jesters nearby in inaccessible spots, stunning us repeatedly as we tried to deal with the crowd. First Mr. X stalled us (downing Musho and forcing him to bleed out and respawn), and then he downed Bellicose twice with creatures-- but not only was I able to save her with a FAS the first time, but I was able to take out two active cameras as Rob revived her by hand the second time, keeping the MM from harassing them further. And this turned out to be quite fortuitous for us, because during that whole mess, Musho had zipped ahead to the first core and gotten it done without any problems at all, as the MM had been too busy focusing on us. He spawned Mr. X at the second core, but chose to chase Rob instead of the rest of us, and Musho sent Bellicose down on the lift, both so she could go rescue Rob, and so that Mr. X couldn't come back to him as he worked on the core, and he got it done easily. Musho told me to follow him to back him up on the third core, which spawned below in the center.
Unfortunately, that's when things began to go awry. Bellicose was unable to save Rob, and although I was able to time the MM's camera with Instant, Rob bled out. Bellicose then stayed up there to scan things and help us out from above while I fended the creatures off Musho with my KASHIMA... but as we got the last core done and I took out the MM's camera, a stray dealer which no one had noticed at the time downed Bellicose, and I had no more FASes. Rob tried to save her, but had to abandon her, and so he went to go join Musho at the exit while I went to lift up the lift for Bellicose once she respawned. But as I waited, the MM downed both Musho and Rob with Mr. X, and he came straight for us as the lift lowered. Bellicose escaped the lift, but I didn't, and Mr. X tried to overkill me as the lift went back up.
But amazingly, not only did I manage to dodge him both times and get off the lift alive, but Bellicose had saved both Rob and Musho. She and Rob then raised the other lift to help me out, as the MM was focusing on me at that point, and I was able to stop him from downing Rob with my KASHIMA. Musho finally pulled the exit once we had gotten to the stairs, and together, we were able to hold off the MM fairly well. We didn't have a whole lot of time left on the clock, but when the exit opened, we were able to escape handily.

Using the last bullet to shut that final camera. It doesn’t seem like you struggled because of the teamwork, but having the resources very depleted makes me super nervous. 😅
Yeah, it was pretty close! I was hoping to make a trip to the item box after the second core, because I didn't have a FAS for most of area 3 after reviving Bellicose... but it just didn't work out that way. Musho needed backup on the last core, which turned out to be pretty important, because I think the MM would've downed him if he was alone.

Yeah, we still do! And we've been playing loads of things together outside of Resistance ofc :) He's not sure he wants to call it a full comeback, but we have played together here and there

It *was* close! i honestly didn't expect to live through being trapped on the lift with Mr. X, or for Bellicose to revive Musho and Rob in time. Glad we were able to pull through!
