This mindset is how developers came to be independent from the game console companies.
Look up how Activision got it's start by separating itself from Atari. Atari was taking the credit and money from Activision when they were a small company so they ended up going with "fine, I'll do it myself" and becoming one of the biggest game dev studios in history.

@Jono_McK bungie wasn't perfect. 343 just had a company guiding its every move and couldn't do anything. Also bungie almost killed halo with reach. They almost dismantled lore that was 11 years old at the time. They also tried to write that master chief never met a brute until the end of the war which isn't true. 343 has problems but bungie started them

One contradiction is Rtas Vadum still lives in the post-Covenant War despite your depiction of him getting executed by Brute Chieftain's powerful gravity hammer unless you planned his survival.

How do modders make a campaign that gives me more dopamine than an entire game worth hundreds of millions. Modding is keeping this community alive.
Because the modders actually care about the game and the triple A companies only care about money
duh, we see this with nearly every single AAA game, sad that the people who are supposed to develop the game put less and less creative effort and just copy what every other game has like battle passes or advertisements.
That is the true definition of being a fan and being passionate is about. You end up doing better thing then the one who has millions of dollar of funds. Keep up the good work
I wish we had more spin off stories within the covenant or more arbiter based games. He was made an awesome character in halo 2-3 and the books. He deserves his own stand alone game.

@@snowiestsloth1467 maybe a bit but not entirely. The older Halo's were a social game, a kickback-and-relax sort of play. The newer Halos are focused on MLG-style play whoch many are not fond of.
I can't remember which Halo specifically (it was either 5 or Infinite) but 343 straight up had MLG teams come in to help guide them during the multiplayer creation. Stuff like this helps bring Halo back to it's kickback-and-relax style with the graphics most associated with that time

It’s not a halo campaign unless you have one mission where something is getting hijacked and you gotta fight your way out I love this.

This is incredible! I've been a halo fan since I was a kid, and this just brings back so many memories! I'd pay good money just to play these levels, never mind a full game!! Bitter sweet seeing the community do a better job than the halo devs themselves.
Idk why but I faintly remember arbiter screaming up into the sky in the final cutscene

within the Shadow of Intent.
I don't want to discredit you or imply i know better (i don't, never modded a thing in my life) but
I have some ideas on what could give this level (and project overall)
a bit more HALO-ness:
01:________
- let the NPCs have some Event-recognizing voice-lines
(for example, an NPC-Elite saying: "Excellent work, arbiter. One more to go..." after reactivating Generator 01 )
02:________
- include these tiny Cornertexts/ Headlines that appear in your lower screen when you reach a certain point in a mission
Example:
- "... not big enough for both of us"
- "... as stubborn as you are"
- " Were it so easy..."
03:________
And last one; for this mission in particular:
- when retracing from the Engine room, before the Bridge...
I think this would have been the perfect spot to include a Grav-Hammer-Brute

the cut-scenes are soo good. so is the general writing and world building.

The recreation of the original mission has been extremely stellar! Great modding!
I like the little detail of the Marine gripping his rifle. You can't tell what he is thinking. If he wants to take the shot knowing that the Arbiter's shields COULD be down and most likely knowing what he did and represents and could be if left to live, he could end it right there, or if he is just really tired like everyone else is at this point and is killing time by moving the gun slightly, if he just feeling kinda emotional from knowing this alien survived but the Chief allegedly didn't so he is fidgeting with his gun to not think about it further or if he is just bored and wants this to be done for once because like everyone else, he has much to do after this. You genuinely cannot tell what is going on through his mind and we will never know but that's the magic of it. The war is over but for everyone, it doesn't feel like anything is safe still. It was just so abrupt, everyone's still in a daze about it all. Afterlife might not even be a good enough word to describe the feeling of knowing you were dead but realizing there is still life in this other side. That other side of this end of the war being something no one has known for half a lifetime... Peace.

The thing that stands out the most to me is how EXPANSIVE these maps are, it really helps immerse you into the scale of a Covenant Super Carrier.
Not to be pedantic and nitpicky but its just a carrier, not super carrier. The brute ship is a cruiser.

Opening scene gave me chills that halo has not done for many years...
The intro was kinda cheesy, but it’s a mod so I won’t hold it to such high standard.
This is a great piece of work but somthing you could of done was use the end scene of halo 3 up until the arbiter says take us home instead of voicing it over and redoing it but apart from that it really really good

Ruby's Rebalanced Halo 2 is gonna have a jackal shield where you can dual wield it with a one hander or energy sword. He showed it off during the "in progress" update vids. I heavily recommend Ruby's Rebalanced CE mod for MCC if you haven't played it

This is incredible. After the way things went with 343 Halo's true story for me ended with Halo 3. Don't get me wrong I think the Banished we're a decent enough replacement for the Covenant but It just wasn't the same and it could of been done much much better. Seriously hats off to the Mod team behind this 👏
