We can't really find any when we search it. So, we are dedicated to document every repair / upgrade we did. Hope it would be helpful to other Class A owners. Now that you have had the new refrigerator for a while how do you like it?
What do you have to do differently to secure it and the items in it when you travel?
How well is it working for you?
Are you glad you did it?
We have an appointment with MS RV to have ours replaced in our ‘08 Phaeton just as you did and before it happens I’d really appreciate hearing your response. TY.

Hi Hope, we LOVE the new fridge!! We wish we had done it sooner!! Ice creams are so hard, almost break our hands when scooping it out. LOL! Ok now seriously. The new fridge keeps the food and vegetable fresh much longer. There's lot more storage spaces. It comes with a narrow black velcro tape to secure the fridge doors. It's not enough. We use two wider velcro tapes to secure the doors, one on the top, one on the bottom of the handles. We use containers to store items in the fridge, so nothing falls while traveling. I also put a layer of non-slip on each glass shelf, so nothing slides. Daniel and Carl from MS RV are awesome! We will definitely go back to them when we need other works done in our Phaeton! Hope you will like the new fridge like we do. Please say hi to them for us. Thanks.

Thanks I was wondering how you change the appliances in a RV, without removing the front windshield.

It's much easier from the driver side window!

These residential fridges are to large to fit through any RV door. In a travel trailer or 5th wheel, they have to remove the slideout.

@@ShutterFanatic 😲😲 Glad we have a Class A. That's so much work to remove the slideout, difficult to do it yourself. Certainly needs professional help!

@@LaVieFlottante Definitely not a do it yourself job unless you have a lot of big strong friends:)

Thank you! It's Whirlpool side by side, model number and details are in the video. It's doable by your self with right tools and some extra hands.

Curious to why they would want less ventilation in the back. was this to protect it from water? The fan that sucks the air from the coils is right around where that vent is.

wondering the same. I'm about to do this and not sure if I should or shouldn't have more ventaliation. During the summer I'd want that heat out, but during the winter I'd want that heat in. I guess it depends on how tightly you sealed the fridge in the cabinet interior wise.

Hi. It was around $3,000 in our 2007 Tiffin Phaeton when we get the new fridge in 2020. We highly recommend MS RV Solutions. You can get their contact info in the video. Give them a call, they will give you a quote based on your RV.

What model refrigerator did you go with? Looks like height only needed adjustment and not width?

    • @LaVieFlottante
      @LaVieFlottante  2 ปีที่แล้ว

It's Whirlpool side by side, you can find the model number and other details in the video. Yes, only needed to adjust the height, not width in our case.

I can't imagine being this RV tech and having to interact with the woman video taping this. This man has one job, to remove the old and install the new fridge to the best of his ability. NOT to answer 100 ridiculous questions from the customer. Reminds me of a sign in a mechanic's shop many years ago which said:
    "LABOR CHARGES ARE AS FOLLOWS":
    $100 per hour.
$150 per hour if you watch.
$200 per hour if you help.
When the techs are in your RV, you should just stay the fuck out of their way. A simple way to tell the customers that, is to "REMIND" them: "CUSTOMERS NOT ALLOWED IN WORK AREA DUE TO INSURANCE REGULATIONS"
The modern labor charge sign might add this:
$300 per hour if you insist on getting in our way to video tape the job!
