It's so refreshing to see the Orioles with a highly capable and modernized front office and scouting team. We were such an embarrassment in this area for a long time and I'm glad we have Mike Elias turning us into a winning franchise from the ground up.

As far as getting into the international market, I agree 1,000%. However, remember Adley is the only guy up that they have drafted. The last two GM’s were pretty good. Mancini, Mullins, Hayes, Mountcastle, GRod, and DL Hall were all drafted by last regime. And McPhail and Duquette got the players that made this team the team with the best overall record in the American League from 2012-16. And acquired the likes of Jones, Tillman , Machado, Schoop , Markakis, and Chen.
Ecstatic that we have the top farm system, and this recent surge is great. But we want the best team in the Majors and hopefully get lucky enough in playoffs to eventually win a World Championship. Now if you mean the people who ran the team prior for most of those 14 straight losing seasons before 2012. I am with you all the way. But our last two GM’s were pretty decent. Hopefully when looking back on O’s history we will someday say Elias was even better or the best. Only time will tell.

@@capsfan3940 We're really about to see a wave of talent hitting from Elias, we have the number one farm system in baseball and a lot of his overslot, later picks are destroying AA, AAA. We've never had this kind of depth. That last gift from Duquette (Grayson) may really end up cementing his legacy for what he did for the franchise as well. But to your point, completely ignoring the international talent while superstar level players were getting signed by the other teams just for cash, was an absolute embarassment.

@@dstyer6128 Agree about the embarrassment of not being involved in international market. But that is on ownership. Duquette had been involved in that market in his previous stops with other organizations. Thank goodness Elias convinced the Angelo’s brothers when he was hired the importance of it. The one thing the jury is still out on Elias is his ability in the trade market. Not had too many opportunities, but will be important in acquiring pitching in particular, as they have not drafted too much pitching in the early rounds.

@@capsfan3940 Yeah, I think we've had a pretty bad track record of draft the right pitchers, ruining them, and watching them become successful elsewhere, there was an all-star rotation of our former pitchers including the best closer in baseball right now drafted by us. Outside of Grayson and DL it's sparse, so we'll need at least 1 solid #2 starter via trade behind Means when he's healthy.

@@dstyer6128 Dan had a hand tied behind his back the whole time. Wasn’t an A+ but certainly wasn’t a bad gm at all. The Davis contract, lack of player development, and international market activity were all on Angelos. Not to mention whatever role Brady Anderson had.

Hope they can sign Carter Young because he’d be an absolute steal in the 17th if he returns to his 2021 form.

If everything goes to plan I feel like this team can be like the giants of the early 2010’s a potential dynasty

Anyone know where the Orioles Farm System ranks after the 2022 draft?
