Back in the late 60’s as a Native Houstonian and I was only around 7 or 8 yrs old living at Clayton Homes in Downtown Houston, My Mom was from San Antonio and introduced me to La Musica Chicana at that early age and without a doubt this was my favorite song from that time, I remember my older sibling and the neighboring Pachucos who also were very much into this music . I’ll never lose this music
Hey Charlie. I played bass on this record. Dr. Lou FIscher. Its been many many years ago! I was 14 years old. Its too bad they didn't use the real band's photo. Whoever posted this probably just used what they had of Jesse Quintano's Teardrops band on file.
Buena rola! My heart is here in San Anto. used to live in East Los but I was very young. Mi jefa made my jefe move us back to San Anto, so I grew up with this music, remember my older carnales y carnalas listen to this type of music. And I remember going to Immaculate conception church to watch thru the windows while these guys were playing a hop and the teenage kids were all slicked up for it.😎😁

Jesse opened up a music store in 1980 or 1981on San Pedro called pro musician. i bought a lot of equipment from him at the time for my band. He later became a car salesman at Superior Pontiac on loop 410. That band used to practice next door. Since i was a drummer turned bass player dickie Lopez would let me jam on the drums with him while he played keys . I also auditioned for them in 68 when I was in the eight grade and Zapata at the Chances Are . I recognize the guys in that picture. Larry Filipone in the top center, the guy on the right next to him gave me his little screw driver set to adjust the action on my Kay bass.
