    Great job! It was so nice to hear the rider praising the horse all the way round and really appreciating the job he was doing :3

    I love how she takes credit for her own mistakes instead of blaming the horse like most riders do, very nice rider 😁😁

    Great video! I wanna do cross country someday just riding though a field or a forest and jumping over huge obstacles just seems so fun for me! I also love how you praise your horse he is a great jumper!

    I just love how you praise him every time he helps you on the jump... I mean the horse will probably feel like he's doing something right!! I normally see people giving a pat on the neck after completing a course (of course this is good) but I already give my horse a pat when he changes hand smoothly.... its not on the same level. Keep it up!!

      It's not the size of the jump, it's how you jump them.

      Rebecca Farms is always a beautiful venue. A terrific destination for a vacation as well. The ground crews do an amazing job making this a beautiful course. I don't think there is a prettier location in the country.

    It is with a great deal of sadness that I have to tell everyone that has followed Stuart aka Warlord that he tragically died December 16th just 9 days before Christmas of a colic complication in the year 2018. He was 14 years old. He was a great friend. He loved everyone. Was comical in that he loved to steal my hat when I was cleaning his stall. He even stole the wheelbarrow and carried that about a 100 yards out in the pasture before he dropped it. He was a joker, playful and a solid competitor when he needed to be. He loved Mikes Hard Lemonade and if you had one on a drink holder after a horseshow he would steal that too holding it by the neck of the bottle and tip it into his mouth. He never bit the bottle or cracked it which was always a worry. Our plans for him was to move him into an FEI CCI** division this season. Now he will compete there in our hearts. He had also earned his Bronze Medal with the United States Dressage Federation and was working on his Silver Medal in that same organization. To say how painfully we miss him is an understatement. Stuart was bigger than life itself and a huge part of our little ranch here in Colorado. He is resting peacefully in the pasture that he virtually spent his whole life playing in. Thank you for following him and watch his other videos if you have a chance.

    I really want to do this someday! Does it cost money to do these? It might be a while before I do, IF I do, because I havent learned to jump yet. But that wont stop me from wanting to do it!

    • @RanchoFiascoMike
      @RanchoFiascoMike  7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      It is fairly expensive at this level of competition but keep pushing and if you are determined enough you can do it!

    Canter or gallop? Please answer

    • @RanchoFiascoMike
      @RanchoFiascoMike  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In these FEI Divisions you are going 550 - 575 meters per minute. On the wide open spaces you are probably pushing 600 meters per minute. That is really going quick! Gallop!

    How do u guys remember ur course

    • @RanchoFiascoMike
      @RanchoFiascoMike  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You walk the course 2 or 3 times and all the fences or jumps are numbered with color coded numbers so you can tell that they are for your division. It is really a fun exciting sport. There are divisions for everyone from very beginners to Olympic levels.

    • @itz_kaylee3211
      @itz_kaylee3211 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RanchoFiascoMike ok ty and i would love to but i dont have the time to keep my horse fit enough for that sport i stick with pony club games and show jumping

    • @itz_kaylee3211
      @itz_kaylee3211 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Azia Mackie well naw duh but ur not just gonna go in a straight line there are lots of turns too sooo, I know they r numbered

    • @RanchoFiascoMike
      @RanchoFiascoMike  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kaylee, as I mentioned above, you receive a packet when you check in to the eventing staff office. In that packet you will get a map or course layout that shows all the jumps on your course. You then physically go out and walk over the entire course 2 or 3 times. Along with being numbered, your division will have numbers that are a specific color. For example, the CCI* division has a dark green background on the left side of the jump with CCI printed on the numbered plate. It also has white numbers. That can be a little confusing at times if you don't pay attention as the level just below this one is Preliminary and it also has a green plate but it is just slightly different in the color of green and there is no CCI label on it.

    • @RanchoFiascoMike

      Not sure why they would dislike this. Both rider and horse love what they are doing

  • @Bestmusic-em5tc
    @Bestmusic-em5tc 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The horse ran a long time and you didn’t even let it stop, when you run on a horse at least let it stop sometimes and let it take a breather. Btw,when your horse is running don’t slap it because the horse is doing the best he can. This is horse abuse.

    • @RanchoFiascoMike
      @RanchoFiascoMike  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a funny. If you are serious you know nothing of horses and know even less about 3-Day Eventing. This is not a trail ride.

    In cross country let your horse go don't hold him back like show jumping bit of advise and after a jump if your horse does it we'll give him a pat or say well done so he knows he is doing them right thing. If you don't know what your doing don't do it and make sure when you are walking the course get the right lines so you know what you are doing when you riding 😊

      She/He has to hold before a jump to see a stride, going flat out into a big jump is dangerous. They also very clearly know what they're doing, They wouldnt be competing in CCI* if they couldnt ride.
