Gandhi Mahal is a Indian restaurant in the Longfellow neighborhood in Minneapolis. The Restaurant is focused on being sustainable, some of the food is grown in a basement aquaponics system.
I heard about Mr. Islam from Diners, Drives, and Drive-ins. As a gardener I was fascinated when I learned of his sustainable food production from his bees to his aquaponic growing system. Thank you for making this wonderful video and giving a voice and attention to this visionary and the future of our food supply. Mr. Islam represents all that is great about immigration!
My middle school, Barton Open School, did a series of songs detailing the lives of people from Minneapolis. Each class made one song with the help of local artists. My class's song was about Ruhel Islam. If you're reading this Ruhel, you're a legend where I come from.
You are pillar of our Southside Minneapolis community. May god bless you and your family and inshallah you will rebuild and prosper once again after the horrible fire. And the community will be there to assist you in any way . BLM @GEORGEFLOYD
I love this man. He is heroic, compassionate and humanitarian. If only what he says about the USA being a melting pot of acceptance and tolerance were true.
Great Job Isaiah! Love the restaurant, love the story, love the message & you did a beautiful job telling it!
Amazing! Thank you for capturing this story so beautifully.
Nicely done, Isaiah!
Haha... A bangladeshi migrant, cooking indian food, naming his restaurant in an Indian guy, what more unique example would you see people thriving on/taking advantage of their neighbors 😂😂😂😂😂. Nonetheless their food is tasty, its my personal experience.
Before 1947 we were all the same man. Focus on the positivity he's spreading, I think that is more important, specially now.
