In one first aid course they told us that we don't have to suck the venom, instead keep the person without moving and with a cloth tourniquet the area, another place that area in hot water the long can endurance 😮
I'm 71 and British, I passed my driving test in the 70s. I went to a driving school, and one day after, it had been snowing, and I had a lesson. My instructor said as there's nothing more I can teach you, how about something new, I drove to a side road which still had snow on it, and I was taught how to put the car into a skid and how to drive out off it safely. I passed my driving test 1st time. Several years later, in winter weather, I was out in my car, and on a hill, my car started to slid/skid without thinking, I drove into the skid and got the car back on track. Just goes to show, even though I'd not used that skill I'd been taught it was there in my memory to use. It didn't save my life as all I'd have hit was a parked car and the kerb, but it did save an insurance claim and one angery husband, ex-husband now.😊
I learned this skill today😂😂 took my girl to a Dr appointment, and road are icy. Started sliding, she got scared until I remembered turn where my eyes are and just told her the car wanted to learn to ice skate 😂😂 if it wasn't having to keep her calm and safe I'd honestly probably would have panicked.😅
so my friends started raving about this book called Vibrations of Manifestation, and honestly, their lives started to shift-one got a promotion they thought was years away, another randomly reconnected with someone who gave them a huge opportunity. it’s like their energy just leveled up, not in some flashy way, but in a way that actually sticks. people say this book gets taken down fast because it’s too real, so good luck if you wanna find it.
More Tornado Safety Tips: Never seek shelter under an Overpass, it is NOT safe, you can be sucked out from under the structure, debris can slice and stab you, or even a car parked under there could have the windows shatter and grind into you. If you're driving when a Tornado is coming or too close, pull over and get out, flop face down into a ditch or depression, and spread ou a little, gripping the ground if possible. This low profile should prevent the suction from getting under you and pulling you into the air or across the ground. If you can shelter inside, head for the basement or cellar; if you do not have such a space, then seek the most interior room of the house, usually a bathroom or a coat/linien closet. Bring your phone, your pets and loved ones, and make sure everyone has shoes on or in hand. You might have to cross debris like broken glass and hunks of wood and metal after the Tornado has moved on. And if possible, bring helmets with you and put them on. Even a bicycle helmet is good protection for your skull. Always keep tabs on the weather, even if you do not live in a Tornado prone area, because they can drop ANYWHERE in the US. Get a NOAA/NWS Radio that can alert you when you're sleeping that a weather emergency is coming. I lived in California most of my life, and I did see two tordanoes in my time there! Both were small, most likely EF0 or EF1, but even an EF1 can cause serious damage and harm. The one I saw in Santa Maria, CA was small but LOUD, and LOUD equals power. It made the news and caused crop damage, with one poor man safe after trying to outrun the thing in a Tractor with a top seed of 20 MPH. The Tornado appeared to be chasing him when we saw it, until he finally veered to the side and it moved past him. He looked so scared! That reminds me, do NOT try to outrun a Tornado either; they can change direction on a dime, without warning. Streets and roads are limiting for choosing direction too, so again, find an ditch and hang on, cover your head, you'll be far safeer outside your vehicle than in it, statistically. For more Information on Safety and the behaviors of Tornadoes, seek Skip Talbot's channel on TH-cam. He's created some excellent videos discussing safety for Storm Chasers, and what some people have done incorrectly and paid a heavy price for those poor decisions.
Best information anyone should have about tornadoes ❤ they fascinate my friend, but she is the one that wants to experience one 😅 I've experienced hurricanes, floods, 1 tornado (thankfully was away from us and we just got debris and branches in yard)and earthquakes. I'm good 😂😂😅😅 I hope I never have a tornado come down near me again
@@daniellegonzales4223 I support your hope too, we had one go by about a mile to the South, I had to come up from the basement to get my roommate some shoes [after I told her to put them ON while grabbing her pets] and I could not see the tornaro, because I could not see a finger's width out the windows from the Inflow Jet of the tornado. That inflow brought down some trees and pulled a bit of roofing off the barn, but the house was fine, thankfully! So I can support the wish to not see one, yup.
Don't mix bleach and ammonia. Also DON'T leave bleach in your toilet to let stains soak or whatever. Urine has ammonia and it can create the same problem if someone uses the toilet while bleach is in the bowl.
Flush the toilet. Flush the toilet to wet the bowl and get rid of excess organic matter. Bleach should not be mixed with the ammonia in urine because a toxic gas can form.
The fact you said enormous times that you were just you meant more than statistics means to me that life means more than hits. My favorite video ever. Thank you Mike.
No lie, that might actually work if you raise your arms during it and say it loud enough lol. They'll run away from you instead of coming over for pets, but you can pet them in your head lol.
I walk around with a ball of yarn in my pocket at all times. I'll just roll it on the ground and escape when the mountain lion is busy frolicking around and have fun time with it's new toy 🤷🏻♂️
Another great video. I love watching them but I have a suggestion. How about a video or 3 where you answer the trivia questions you ask at the end of your videos?
Those are not trivia questions -- they are topics covered IN the video. So if you don't immediately know the answer, you need to watch the video again!
Thank goodness you guys are okay. Since you didn't unload yesterday I got really worried. ❤yes I watch a list25 video every single night when I rock my baby to sleep. Been a fan for years, and come RIGHT BACK when Mike returned.
In case of fire use back of hand( this is so you can still use your hand to grip later - burns to the palm will prevent this or make it VERY painful.) just an explanation as to why you use the back of your hand to test the door knob. We were also always taught to crouch because there could be gases down at floor level and smoke up higher.
When I was young out with my dad and uncle on night walk we got close to where a mountain lion was. She started stalking us. My uncle in a low calm voice said just keep walking don’t speed up and don’t look back. It worked we got to a point in the walk and she stopped following us
Thank you for this information. I mean, I probably won't be in Mountain Lion country, but if I ever am, your information might just save my life, or whoever may be reading this besides me. I thank you
To break car glass remove your headrest and use it. Also never the front windshield. It is designed to crack when things hit it not shatter the rear window is best if trying to exit while vehicle is sinking especially since the engine ( the weight)is usually in the front as well.
I lived in LA during the Whittier and other quakes. The best thing to do is the same as your camping note: Get out from under anything. No trees, no buildings, even bridges. Run into the parking lot or any other area away from your house, office, electrical wires and poles, walls, trees, overhangs, etc. It was weird. Every quake that hit LA there would be thousands of people gathered outside in groups looking at each other with quizzical faces: "What was that? Is the apocalypse happening?"
Fun fact about poison dart frogs: They are only poisonous if they eat a certain type of bug. I actually recently found that out, at the woodland park zoo. They had the whole cafe of them escape and hop around so unless momma feeds them those certain bugs, they're just gorgeous to look at
Windows are no different at the edges, it's just that the glass can flex a bit, any attempt to break it can bounce, but the edge is firmly supported by the frame. Watch a shop window if someone opens a swinging door (not sliding) Also, if you watch clips of people moving glass, it's fine until just a corner gets a tiny knock
Actually mike, when you call 911, answer their questions as calmly and clearly as possible. They will ask,"911 do you need police, fire or ambulance?". Zendaya will ask,"what is your location?" And other similar questions before they ask you what the problem is. Mama always calmly and clearly answer their questions as they come.
They have my location by my phone but we don’t have a landline. Giving the address is beneficial (They usually don’t need it) and keeping as calm as you can. In an emergency we often forget that. I’m from Canada and they ask what is your emergency then the address.
House fires? Check. Hit by fireworks? Yup. Nearly drowned? Been there. And you should have seen my score in Game 1 of bowling last night! By the way, never use bleach products in a toilet, unless you really adore migraines.
so, my friend wouldn’t stop talking about this book called Vibrations of Manifestation, and I finally gave it a shot. now, they’re making these crazy life shifts-better relationships, unexpected opportunities-it’s wild. they swear by the techniques, saying it’s more practical than woo-woo. the only catch? finding a copy isn’t easy; it’s like the book’s too powerful to stay available
#17? In the Northeast, if we didn’t camp under trees we would never be able to go camping. That’s about the only type of campgrounds we have in the Adirondacks and Catskills.
One thing about possible gas leak. As you leave the house leave the fromt door open. Natural gas is lighter than air and can help to let the gas escape. Don't think you can go back in. Make the emergency calls.
Thank you for these Mike! You never know when these will come in handy. I broke a window to save a pet and wasn’t given any charges. It was over 120 and she was panting. The owner was charged and has been barred for owning animals. Thankfully where I live in Canada (Toronto) animals wise we’re safe. I have seen bears at my cottage garbage disposal. They just want food so a garbage area is perfect.
Great video! I haven't fact checked but seemed like an outstanding subject. Maybe do your next one on killer bees. Nobody ever says what to do about killer bees.
You missed one. No matter HOW PO'D you are at a semi, DON'T play games. No cutting them off, no brake checking, etc. They CANNOT stop or maneuver quickly, & even if they are empty way MANY times what even a large SUV or pickup does. (For example, a semi tractor pulling an EMPTY refrigerated trailer weighs about 35,000#)
This parallels something I learned in one of the courses I took learning sailing. According to the maritime rules of the road, a sailboat always has right of way over a vessel under power (barring a situation where the motor vessel is navigating a narrow channel), but in general, if the other vessel can run you down and not notice, keep out of its way. The same judgement works for pedestrians versus cars -- yes, you have the right of way, but the onus is still on you to make sure that the car will have time to recognize you and stop; if it doesn't or can't, you need to be the one making room.
Another important note about tires. They are not made of rubber. They are actually made of tightly packed carbon particles mixed with petroleum products. Hence why they burn black. Also white smoke can sometimes be mistaken for steam. Black smoke there is no mistaking
i always rolled my eyes at manifestation stuff until my friend showed up with this crazy new energy after reading Vibrations of Manifestation. they seemed more focused, more at peace, and things just started falling into place for them-like they weren’t chasing anymore, just attracting. it’s subtle but powerful. apparently, the book is hard to find because it keeps disappearing, but if you’re curious, it’s worth the hunt
If you're lost in a desert with only one canteen, don't just sip it, drink at least a cup at a time to give yourself as much time to think clearly before dehydration sets in.
Great episode, Mike! Some things I knew, others I didn't. Another trick for hiking where wild animals roam is to talk while you're walking, even if alone. Wild animals really don't want to be near humans, and just the sound of your voice may be enough to keep them away. And of course, if you see a bear cub, get tf out of there. Don't talk cute to it, don't approach, don't take a photo, just return the way you came. You do not want that cub's mama to see you _anywhere_ near her cub.
These are some excellent tips; thanks, Mike! Digging the cool outfit, too! As to the trivia, the answer is B; I learned this from documentaries and first hand account vids about natural disasters... 😉
You'd initially think so, but the shaking would be worse outside, and plus, there would be the chance of debris from buildings falling on you and seriously injuring you, if not killing you right off... That's why they have earthquake drills in schools in places like Japan that are more prone to them where the kids get on their hands and knees and crouch down under their desks... 😉
Great presetation, Mike! I knew a few of these already, but not most of them! Pay attention, folks! Some of these CAN save your life if you're caught up in them!
Many years ago, my sister moved from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to southern California. Her neighbors told her about the potential for earthquakes. They told her to climb into the bath tub should one occur. She had to use this response twice while living there. She moved back to the UP two years later, preferring heavy snow fall to earthquakes!
I was taught a helpful trick similar to the one under water: If you are ever stuck under snow, say from an avalanche, protect your face and try to create a pocket of air right in front of you. If you don't know which way is up, drop a bit of spit out of your mouth as it will always fall directly down.
This is a comment regarding the edges of glass I've been the weak spot also not to mention I've heard this tip otherwise is the the seat back the headrest are made in such a way that they can be used also to escape out of a car
@4:30, however, there's also the viceroy butterfly, which look REALLY similar to a monarch butterfly, but is not poisonous. @11:22, technically, you ALSO don't wanna approach a horse from behind UNLESS you keep a hand CONSISTENTLY on its backside while doing a walk-around: it basically just tells the horse "hey, I'm here: don't kick" And if you're ever trapped underwater in a sinking car: DON'T try to bust out right away at the submerged parts. You wanna wait until the car reaches the riverbed, when the pressure equalizes. However, if your car window ISN'T fully submerged, THEN you wanna strike at the parts of the window that AREN'T submerged yet. More often than not, the spikes on the headrests will do as tools to help. And if you EVER run into a black bear: DON'T play dead or try to climb a tree. Black bears are AMAZING climbers and they DON'T fall for that "playing dead" junk like grizzlies do.
The horse kicks can definitely be more dangerous than people think. My grand uncle was kicked in the stomach by a mule and he went on to develop cancer in the spot he was kicked, something no one expected to happen or even thought of.
# 24 Although my brother had a great idea once: A single, particular cloth bag in which all vital, critical papers and documents are kept. In the event of a fire, you grab ONE thing: the bag with all the important life-processing stuff in it.
You also shouldn't cut into a snake bite because as the blood comes out more oxygen goes in allowing venom to travel faster and if your in an area you know snakes are found in then you should carry a venom plunger they really do help a ton but still get to the hospital asap
Omg my mums house has been smelling like fish lately we have been scratching our heads we don’t eat seafood she keeps a very clean tidy home just called an electrician to come out today thanks for this information ❤
A horse can see almost all the way around itself except directly behind them to which they have to turn their heads slightly. If you must approach from behind say something or make some kind of noise to let them know you are there. But nothing really loud. Then gently touch them . Always worked for me.
Coming from snow country, I ALWAYS drive near the shoulder, UNLESS it's really bad, then I drive, VERY SLOWLY, with my right tires on the shoulder. That crunchy stuff offers far more grip and it just the two right tires can be kept in control, the left side tires will follow.
I think the one that we should be really focusing on lately has been down power lines. What to do if you see a downed power line and somebody in a car passed out and that much needed knowledge
When I was younger and at my first job, I was told to mop the stockroom. I used bleach AND ammonia because I just didn't know better. When some other employees came back there, my eyes and theirs was watering. They asked what I was moping with and I told them. One said that gives off a poisonous gas, and my friend about fell trying to run out of there. I have gotten much smarter about this stuff after that incident. I had a friend that would post when she was going on vacation and how long she would be gone. I said why don't you just make a post that says "come rob me"? She got mad until I explained why. She quit doing that after that.
Posting your location also shows where you are, and if you're partying, that you're vulnerable. This especially applies to women. But goes for men, too.
Batteries can help create fires huh, this can be a good and bad thing Burning tires in the desert might be handy...let's hope someone notices I am surprised about the window thing, this is another thing that can be good and bad
Where I live we have a decent population of mountain lions. I was at work one night and had the door open and a mt lion walked right up to me and just stared for a little bit watching me work then walked back off but no I didn't approach it and I didn't even make an effort to close the door because if it wanted to hurt me it def would have done so even before I got to the door
Some good info here. Regarding mountain lions, wear a tee shirt with an animal face with big eyes on it, BACKWARDS. If you can't find one, get a sports tee with the number 00 on it and use a Sharpie to turn the 0s into giant eyes. If they see eyes facing them, they are less likely to pounce. Also, carry a gun.

No tires handy in the woods. Pine sap is a flammable material that also gives off black smoke. It burns like oil.
Also in the desert some plants are oily like ocotillo
Both good suggestions. Thanks!
Birchbark!
Don't "Bedazzle" your steering wheel. The airbag going off will make those rocks and jewels like a shotgun blast to the face.

A Chef taught me another way to put out a grease fire, pour table salt on the fire. I've had to use this, and it works.
Or baking soda.
You learn something new everyday.

If I’m on a camping trip and a tree branch comes down on me, I guess that’s just what the universe wanted
Always check for widowmakers. It's not hard.
There is a reason there is a name for the situation called "widow maker." It happens more often than people know.
Deep gratitude🎉
Great video! I haven't fact checked but seemed like an outstanding subject. Maybe do your next one on killer bees. Nobody ever says what to do about killer bees.
Another great video
Love the hat!
I have been in quicksand. It sucks and the sand gets everywhere.
Thanks bro
These are some excellent tips; thanks, Mike! Digging the cool outfit, too! As to the trivia, the answer is B; I learned this from documentaries and first hand account vids about natural disasters... 😉
I was thinking C, so you don't get trapped in rubble. If something lands on the desk/table you could be trapped underneath, yes?
You'd initially think so, but the shaking would be worse outside, and plus, there would be the chance of debris from buildings falling on you and seriously injuring you, if not killing you right off... That's why they have earthquake drills in schools in places like Japan that are more prone to them where the kids get on their hands and knees and crouch down under their desks... 😉
@jcfreak4ever1 we had that kind of drill here in Texas for tornadoes 😺
@jcfreak4ever1 that too makes sense. Either way falling debris can take you out.
That hat tho!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Please let me know if lighting a flash light is ok when we smell gas.
Good question!
@11:22, technically, you ALSO don't wanna approach a horse from behind UNLESS you keep a hand CONSISTENTLY on its backside while doing a walk-around: it basically just tells the horse "hey, I'm here: don't kick"
And if you're ever trapped underwater in a sinking car: DON'T try to bust out right away at the submerged parts.
For Earthquakes. Brace yourself in a doorway in old buildings. Take cover away from windows in New buildings.
You look good in the hat Mike! 😊
A car's ignition doesn't have an internal engine LOL it's called internal components ✌️❤️👽
# 24 Although my brother had a great idea once: A single, particular cloth bag in which all vital, critical papers and documents are kept. In the event of a fire, you grab ONE thing: the bag with all the important life-processing stuff in it.
16:09 This is especially true for front wheel drive vehicles.
Love the hat!!❤
A horse can see almost all the way around itself except directly behind them to which they have to turn their heads slightly. If you must approach from behind say something or make some kind of noise to let them know you are there. But nothing really loud. Then gently touch them . Always worked for me.
Cause we ALWAYS travel with 9volt batteries and steel wool 🙄
Thank you for another great video, I learned a few new things. Loving the Western look😊
I like your Indiana Jones looks!
I liked the hat you looked very nice today. And I really really like your show
I wouldn’t use bleach or ammonia on a wood floor. Driving on ice is super scary. Drive very, very slowly.
If you're going to bring a 9-volt battery and steel wool why don't you just bring a lighter why would you have that on you???
but if you're trying to use a lighter to start a fire when it's windy, then my money is on the steel wool and 9v battery
@@colinshard8665 flameless electric lighters are awesome
The headrests (which are easily removed from the seats in a car) metal prongs can be used to smash a car window if you are trapped inside
An ENT doc told me he had removed leeches from kids' noses who had been swimming in warm fresh water
I moved far away from tornadoes... I went to Utah where tornadoes are not prevalent.
Love the hat, Indiana

#9 -- Mixing Bleach and Ammonia. You also don't want to mix Bleach and Rubbing Alcohol. It creates Chloroform.
Posting your location also shows where you are, and if you're partying, that you're vulnerable. This especially applies to women. But goes for men, too.
This is what I want to see. 🤓😎✌🏼☮️
Batteries can help create fires huh, this can be a good and bad thing
Burning tires in the desert might be handy...let's hope someone notices
I am surprised about the window thing, this is another thing that can be good and bad
I would have been an easy mark! I would have fainted! I will take Aussie snakes and spiders any day!
WOW! Just WOW!

Great video! A: Doorway
13:42 I’m assuming the car is already not drivable if you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere. If not, burning your spare tire isn’t without risk
Also when you’re with the horse, rest your hand on it to let it know you’re still there if you’re going to walk around behind them.
Mike, what in the Day After Tomorrow is going on down there? Snow and single digit windchills? The southeast weather has lost its mind. Stay warm.
3:24 Love you brother but that's clearly not a fact. The tornado could just as well be moving away from you! ✌️
