No they aren’t YG. The “parent” label of XGALX is AVEX in Japan, which YG collaborates with for their artists Japan releases, I think.
I'm so glad you react to K-Pop artists and songs in order, from the debut, onwards in order, IMO it's the most logical way, and the way everyone else experienced it also, it just makes sense to react in that order, so thank you for taking on that mantle.

they are not in YG. YG even felt the need to put out a statement at some point (i think it was pre debut, when the name XG started floating around) to clarify that they have nothing to do with that group named XG and that this is not one of their new secret projects.
xg is under xgalx that is a korean based subdivision of avex japan iirc.
it's all a great masterplan.
a japanese company gathering japanese girls, putting them through the kpop treatment/training in south korea, letting them sing in english to launch them on a global conquest.
They trained in Japan at Avex Artist Academy before the XG project and continued to train there for the first few years, moving to korea for the last few years.

What in the late as hell reaction is this? Lol FINALLY ITS ABOUT DAMN TIME!!! Always better late than never, it’s good though you started with their debut song cause you get to see the progress these girls have made since then. Be sure my guy to also watch their pre debut videos, vocal covers and rap xypher cuz it’ll all show the individual talents this group has, and the dance practice fixed versions and relay dance these show just how creatively skilled they are
Glad you're reacting to them and their songs in order. It's one thing if they're were a group that's been around for 3+ years, but they're still early in their careers.
I'm just a casual fan of them and probably in the minority, but "Tippy Toes" still remains my favorite track of theirs. But they're 3 of 3, make no mistake. Their future is very bright with all that talent.
XG is just FIRE. Im old skool and these young ladies are the most talented ive seen in a really long time. They are the same group that had the xypher that blew up and went viral on tiktok. On youtube its called XG TAPE #2 GALZ XYPHER (COCONA, MAYA, HARVEY, JURIN). That will blow your mind you have to check that one out. And their new song "Shooting Star" has been blowing up globally since its release last week. Its is so good and such a vibe

They're not related to YG, that company made a statement last year to clarify that. Their company (XGALX) is a subsidiary of Avex (the Japanese company that trained these girls and also their producer).

P.S. Regarding how you missed it -outside of being slightly weary about the YG connection because SAME- iirc, K-pop was super busy around March of last year, so that might explain it. That was when I personally started to get behind on releases. Very nearly at January’s releases, but I used to be a full 3 months behind! 😮💨

We all know how live stages are. Yeah they're live sometimes but, more often than not, there's so much post processing on the voices that it just sounds not live, ya know?
