Words cannot explain what Commissioned meant not only to me, but the culture of young people, coming up in the Church. This group helped to keep my heart alive for the things of God and the Church.

Commissioned pulled me from the hardcore hip hop bands of the 80's... NWA, BDP. They very instrumental in my life being saved. The anointing was all over them.
My children grew up with Commissioned. My daughter and her classmate invited them to Wellesley College with Witness to do a gospel concert. What a night!!!!

Back when they all were skinny! lol I never missed a Commissioned concert In Rochester NY. Rain or snow. It didn’t matter. I wasn’t missing my blessing!!! Huge fan of Commissioned since I was a teen. They're from Detroit, and not only a dynamic gospel group, but businessmen, they had a store in Northland Mall, where they sold fine leather goods, etcetera. So good to see them performing together again..

There is only 1 Commissioned. They really don't make gospel groups like this. These guys don't know how much they and there music had on me my faith and how I viewed quality music... esp gospel music. Every album and track was an "Oh this is my favourite" moment. The harmonies, the lyrics, the music, the anointing...don't get me started!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾👢

These phenomenal men ministered so powerfully in the 80’s and beyond. Their lyrics reached down deep to the soul, heart and spirit of everyone who listened. I’m not sure if they realized the magnitude of their music ministry. They totally revitalized music across the board-influenced many secular artists and groups. With anointed lyricist, musicians and singers such as Michael Brooks, Fred Hammond, Keith, Carl and Mitchell, Marvin Sapp, Marcus Cole their music will live for decades to come. This was great. I didn't grow up on Commissioned, but I did listen to several of Fred Hammond's hits. It was great to see him with his gospel roots. The lyrics were touching even in up tempo. May God bless every member and Gospel Nation Station for sharing.

When I was a young man, bored in church, before I understood "Blessed Assurance" and "In The Garden", the Spirit of God flowed through Commissioned and the Winans and I gave my life to Christ. Now that I'm older, I can feel "Blessed Assurance" and the others just as the old folks did back in the day. God's Word came through this music and it did not return void. Praise Him.

Fred Hammond is easily one of my most favorite people ever. I can listen to his music everyday until I die and will be happiest about it! I wanna meet him somebody make that happen. My whole life will be made if I can just hug this man🤣 I’m serious though!

So Awesome to hear them! it was my father who passed away a month ago all time favorite grospel group. He had every record, cassette, and CD they ever made. He loved them so much he wanted us to play them at his funeral. He was excited about them coming back for this reunion. I know he is rejoicing in heaven to them! Now that I'm older, I can feel "Blessed Assurance" and the others just as the old folks did back in the day. God's Word came through this music and it did not return void. Praise Him.

Thanks for posting!! 💯 I would’ve liked to have seen Marvin Sapp... and they didn’t sing “Until My Change Comes” but I’ll take it. 🤦♂️😆 Commissioned proved that gospel music doesn’t have to have a Hammond organ and a stomp and a clap. It was gospel music with elements of R&B, funk and a twist of hip hop... love it!!

Fred Hammond is easily one of my most favorite people ever. I can listen to his music everyday until I die and will be happiest about it! I wanna meet him somebody make that happen. My whole life will be made if I can just hug this man🤣 I’m serious though!

I got tears in my eyes. Im just 30 and i remember hearing commission, john p kee, fred, dawkins & Dawkins, hezakiah walker, virtue n the clark sisters n plenty more growing up. The early 90s gospel was a vibe fr smh. I miss it so much

I’m sooooooo emotional right now!!!!! Commissioned is the Absolute Business!!!! I mean the harmonies were and are still TIGHT, melodies and anointed songwriting. Their songs always made me want to read my Bible.

So Awesome to hear them! it was my father who passed away a month ago all time favorite grospel group. He had every record, cassette, and CD they ever made. He loved them so much he wanted us to play them at his funeral. He was excited about them coming back for this reunion. I know he is rejoicing in heaven to them! Awesome to hear them, wish marvin was there,they have become my favorite old school gospel group!
