I fell in love with the Kawasaki ZX-7 in 1989 and new I'd have to have one. I finally made good on it in '95. Loved that bike! Modded it for racing and won a few. Sure miss it. Beautiful '89 here!
Awesome ol ninja with the cool air ducts! I have one and waiting on a new wiring harness. Previous owner mangled it and not worth saving.....the bike on the other hand, is! Safe travels brother! Keep her sunny side up!
I grew up with my older cousins turning up one day on his nearly brand new '89 GSXR750 and a year or so later his brother on a black, red and silver '89 ZXR750. Loved both immensely and a ZXR750 or ZX7R are on my bucket list.
30 years ago a blast on me H2 was 150,but then i had access to the M1/A41M,which are straighter and wider than your local access,it seemed the other rider whipped up your coil, been there, lol, what a sweet sound for her age,a true pedigree filly that one, modern bikes have too much baggage! KEEP HER or regret
Had one for 10 years. Put latest sticky tyres and race pads in it. Handling was rock solid. Brakes pretty good. Just a bit underpowered. Not easy to wheelie but after enough practice i could wheelie through first with a clutch up. And rolling burnouts in 1st and 2nd. Great bike but i prefer the look of 93 to 95 zxr750 the most.
LOOOOVVVVVE that bike. The air intakes are so cool looking. I am looking at getting a '99 zx6r mint condition, all original paint scheme...only way it would be better is if it was a 7r. and it needs valves adjusted,so hes willing to let it go for $1600.
Good luck finding one of these today. Super rare in theUS today plus chances are that if you do it’ll have been crashed at some time in its life and been parked in some apartment complex parking lot and all the fasteners will be rusty. Kawasaki doesn’t make body parts for old bikes like this anymore. This one looks like it’s been living in a nice garage most of its life. Nice example!
I bought a H1 back in 89 and was a fun bike. Handling not the best and a tad down on power but could get 250 k’s top speed. Then traded in for a new J model in 91 and what a bike. Handled well, 260 top speed and looked great. Then had kids.....😂
Sounds anything like H2, well U got best sounding noise on this planet. Krank up that best sounding bike video out there. Freaked out the babes with the JBL speaks. & smoked the tweets, well worth it though
I agree they were never the best bikes in there class I think due to they were made to out sale the vfr's on price so a few compromises on design. This was the first bike that got me into bikes when they came out when I was 12 years old so just wanted to own one but there actually quite fun for £1500 and iconic. Don't see many around now.
Hey Dan they were damn good! Drop the yokes 15mm and front end was superb. Rear shock was way over damped so I took the shock down, guesstimated a mod to the shim stacks regassed it, slightly lighter spring which kawasaki supplied Then all good. Enjoy. PS I think I still have the info of how I modded the shims if you want it? Had a micron pipe on mine worked fine.
nigel mitchell hay man sorry I don't look at my messages often, I sold this bike a year ago and went for a 90 gsxr 750 slingshot and now just gone onto a zzr1400 but I'm still regret selling this zxr as they were just the best looking bikes and those hover pipes are just epic. Cheers for info though if I get another day will check out the mods you suggested it just never felt confident in the corners stock. Kind regards Daniel
WOW 12...I was 27 when these twin lamps appeared,an they were so cool,i thought you had to be a nutter to ride one as back then that thing looked awesome, but i had to have one...LMAO (wonderful memoirs)150 CLUB 1990
Hey mate, that was awesome. I love the old ZXR's. My mate bought a brand new J2 back in 1992 and that thing was supremely gorgeous. I later bought myself a 1994 ZX9R B1. I'd love to be able to buy a J2 though but the prices are astronomical these days. I think I've missed the boat on that one. Hey, by the way, what camera gear are using to film your rides ??
Would rather have this gorgeous thing than any modern day bike. May not be cutting edge now but this is when bikes looked way better and those intake tubes made it look so aggressive. Modern day bikes are over-teched and just don't cut it for me with their quirky looks. This ZXR was when sports bikes looked at their best regarding style. 80s and 90s sports bikes for me any day rather than most Millennial stuff.
100% agree older bikes look so much better, new bikes look so shit and not like bike at all, fuck new bikes, bring back the days of 4 cylinder 250s and 4 cylinder 400s rather than shitty 1 cylinder 250 and 300s,FUCK NEW BIKES.
For some reason I never really liked the design of this bike. Just before this they had the gpx range and before that the gpz. Those to me were beautifully crafted machinery and they looked so good. I think Kawasaki flopped with this and is really only recovering now with the h2 range
Hello, I’m trying to find my dads old bike. I was wondering whether I could message you to see whether this is the one or not? I’ve been looking for years. Thank you
@@danielmk2rs the one he had had the original coloured seat, there was only a few of those made. Yes I’ve had a look but no luck unfortunately :( it still has very low mileage the last time we checked. Things have changed on Dvla now so that you can only see limited data, so it isn’t making the search easy🥴
Agree Steve,i was watching both clocks,i had an H2.,and a blast was 120-150 up near the red when i was 27 in1990,then had a J1 and was still spanking it 'till i got a ZX-9R when i was 36,then WOOP! I still ride today, and have my moments on a ZX-10R,but you are right,i see a lot of gay shit riders on u tube
you mean out of sync, or unbalanced? It'd run like utter shit if so. And probably be boggy and too lean. I think this is perhaps partly video sound not doing it justice....
It was a good bike ran well for 36k on the clock they all sounds a bit rattly. Much better with a period sports exhaust though to really make they sound great.

I think this is the best looking bike ever , always like them
, looks like it could go so fast , modern bikes all look the same
I think the same, imagine in 1989
The new ones look like wanna be "Transformers"
Mate, absolutely. I share your thoughts 👍🏽
nice video and a wonderfull bike greatings from germany

I have a 93L ZXR 750. I love her. 2nd owner and I have every single maintenance invoice from day one! So much fun to ride!
I have a 96 reg L3 and a 95 GSXR 750, love the old stuff, modern bikes just don't do it for me.

Nice bike. Nice video. Man right after my own heart!
That was a rush, thanks man! What a beautiful bike!
Iconic bike.

The best and sexiest of them all was the J2, hands down.
Very beautiful bike!
That looks like Peterborough. Damn, it leaves me itching to get my own 1990 H1 out. Frigging snow !!!!!!
Your's 1990 H2.
@@attikashipping8295 No, confirmed as a H1.

I had the same bike in red, takes me back, thanks

Love them air ducts. Kinda looks like a robot. COOL
There not air ducts are just for styling on the H1 and H2
Gorgeous machine
Beautiful bike mate! I have a 93 zX750L myself
Nice thanks, not rode a L but my h is definitely awesome 😎

I still have a top and one side piece of fairing for a H1 in really good condition, stored in a loft in the dark so green is still fresh, anyone?
Where are you located Nigel? I’m in need of both side fairings.
I have the 1991 version , J1 model. Beautiful bikes, but mine is looking a bit unloved as paint on fuel tank is blistering :-(
🤗😘
What's with the hoover welded on the bike
Its a government experiment to clean the dust particular in the air
Even the vacuum cleaner hoses look trick.

Your tempature gauge broken? Or is that a gas gauge?

There were 1000s made. Was it a uk bike? Your need the registration number and can search maybe on the data base. I own 3 zxr’s
