Helifix Dixie Micro-Pile

Wouldn't the use of micro-piled foundations for an extension to a house with traditional shallow foundations (e.g. spread-brick or concrete strip footings) introduce potential problems with differential settlement - especially if in shrinkable soils with nearby mature trees? What about movement joints between the original house and the extension?
