- At the age of 19, Prince Qi, Pei Yanzhi, was ordered to defend the country against the invasion of Fan Yan Na. With his innate military prowess, Pei Yanzhi turned the tides in their favor but his army was ambushed and defeated in the final Battle of Hong Valley, costing them the victory. Honestly I love the fact that Su Ci continued her job as a detective evan after her marriage with the prince. It gives her caracter a strong sense of independence. After all she has a excelent intelect and is definitly smarter then her husband.
The fact that she was so into her job evan when the prince came at her work place is just like her. But then again she told the prince she will never change evan in the future.
I don’t think that Su Ci is smarter than Prince Qi. They both have talents, knowledge and experiences that the other does not, so I think it’s more that they balance each other.

What I love about this cdrama is that everything’s was so perfectly planned. The cases and how they were solved. Moreover, the pace of all events was perfect. The misunderstandings weren’t dragged on for multiple episodes. They were mostly solved in the same episode or in the next. I loved the chemistry between both couples but what I loved the most was how verbal everyone was with each other instead of hiding stuff. This clearly showed that they were mature enough to handle problems and were adorably childish when they needed to.

This drama made it to the top of my 10 all time favorite historical dramas list. The cast was superb and the 2 leading actors scorched the screen with their 'love story'. It was gratifying, on so many levels, to finally watch a C-drama where the writers have given us a heroine we can all enjoy. Having a leading female actor smart enough to hold her own next to a very powerful and cunning co-star Prince, gave me hope for future dramas to be as good! Both these young talents made a lasting impression on me, and this will be in my library of 're-watch' when I'm blue to lift my spirits! Thanks writers. AND a big thanks to the subbers!

Out of all the asian dramas I've watched so far... Maiden Holmes will forever remain in my top 5 asian dramas. The acting was amazing. So much emotion i could even feel it from the screen lol. The plot, the story, and most of all, the romance was absolutely LEGENDARY. i loved how the writers actually thought everything through step by step and it made it so fun to watch! the thrill of solving cases, and making unforgettable romance on the way was the best part! A big thanks to the writers, actors and staff. Forever in my heart you will remain, maiden holmes

One thing I really appreciate about this drama is that she isn't out for revenge the entire series! Unlike so many other dramas, she simply wants justice and to prove her family's innocence..it was very refreshing.
I hesitated a bit before getting into this drama, expected some super dramatic storyline. However, I love how everything flowed and came together. It was easy watching this drama. The cast were amazing in each their roles. Didn’t feel like I just watched 32 episodes.

Love this drama. I love how the main couple was together all the time without any other women in between. How prince Qi treated Su. The friendship between all of them. I really felt in love with this series.
I also noticed how all the relevant female characters here are just so strong-minded and independent? Loved that touch from the writer of this drama. 👍 From Su Ci to Rushuang and to that Princess that got linked to Commander Fu. Yes, Queens! 👑👑👑

I loved this drama. Loved watching their bond grow, loved their chemistry and how supportive they were of one another.I also loved the fact that there was no evil female second lead or male lead to ruin everything . I am getting tired of those. And I loved the young king who believed in our PrinceQi. Lastly I loved the relationships between the four characters!
I'm so happy he made a full recovery (I don't think that in real life you could survive having a sword go through you unless you had major surgery, but I was so happy to see that he survived in this show!). He was my favorite character. He made me laugh so many times, but was brave when needed to be and had a heart of gold. He reminded me so much of myself. These actors are truly gifted, and I will miss seeing all of them so much. I hope to see them in shows in the future, and I hope the young actor will continue. He was wonderful. I wish them all the very best of luck and many blessings! Thank you for sharing your gifts. It's truly appreciated, and I know I will watch this again in the future! :)

I laughed, I cried, my heart melted with the romance and made me believe in love again. Please another season with these some actors!! It's nice to see this story didn't just leave us with a fancy wedding, instead the five 'muskateers' ride off into the sunset together to carry out their mission to do justice.
I am so sad that this story has come to and end, to put it simply, I loved it. The length of it was perfect even though i'm sad that its ended. It wasn't so short that it felt rushed and they way the plot carried out, they paced it very well so that it was able to fit into a shorter number of episodes and not go on forever. This has become one of my favorite drama's to watch and I could never wait for the next episode to come out. This last one i didn't want to watch because I knew that as soon as I watched it, it would be over. I have never seen these actors in any other dramas before, but they were brilliant, all of the main characters had a connection that shined through and they worked together so well. The two leads each had their own stories and characters which were equally as strong and worked so well, their stories didn't rely on each other, the chemistry between them was almost tangible as well. Their relationship developed throughout the series and yet they were together quite soon and not taking a whole drama to work out their troubles, so you actually got to see how their relationship and lives grow after they are with each other. I love how this story was so different, every romance has it's clichés or stems from them, but this one had so much more to offer. Both of the romances were exciting and sweet, and each of them developed in a realistic way. This drama encompassed everything I love about a drama; a storyline that is well thought out and links things from every episode right through to the end where the mysteries are solved, and lives are connected, it has those twists that you aren't expecting that take several episodes to build up and not just a brief two or three. It has many relationships which are built and showed and not just the main one or two, it would be nice to see a bit more of these relationships building or more memories of how they came about, but I feel like that would have made the drama much longer, I also liked how it had more than one romance, both with clear endings. This drama also had its many comedic moments and was so lighthearted despite the heavy storyline, it was cheerful and there were many smiles as well as tears but not so that it would be anything near a tragedy. I loved that there were many climax's and not just one, this allowed the story to flow easier and seem more realistic. This drama also had its mystery, it's secrets and its action, and I love a good mystery as well as an action with romance and a bit of comedy, and a lighthearted movie with deep moments and tragedy, but to balance them out is usually difficult. Now the only thing I wonder, is if we will see more of these actors brilliant acting in a season two!?! I definitely need more of these sweet and silly scenes in my life, though I do think it will be difficult to top this as the mystery and plot was something that was developed over many years in these characters lives, maybe we can have a bit more of the princess of Beirong? Thank-you all!!!

挺好的一部剧，男女主角在一起，男女配角也在一起，良好的友情关系跟爱情。没有那种所有男人都喜欢女主又或者所有女人喜欢男主然后互相伤害的狗血剧情。其实像这部剧良好的关系也是很好看的。
而且不大會沒事找事讓男女主互相誤會瞞騙，邏輯性還不錯！

This was such a great show. I really appreciate that the story was complete and connected, and it had a happy, satisfying ending that made sense. The characters were strong and beautiful, the misunderstandings had quick resolutions, and there were true friendships and sweet romances. 1- male main lead wasn’t selfish or a high ranked person, he was a prince who didn’t want the throne but wanted to help his people. Female main lead wanted to solve a case for her people, she even went Beyond the lines of laws for it.
2- The other characters,( their group ) has their own way of meeting and knowing each other, they all work together nicely, they don’t hate, they all understand each other. They’re always there for each other
3- Amazing plot, I didn’t except a lot tbh. Like when su was the daughter. And their love stories. Very interesting and intriguing, I was so involved.
4- amazing directors and shooting place
Edit: I recognised the female main lead. She was also in a drama that also just finishing airing called ‘My unicorn girl’ with DARREN CHANN HOLY, y’all must know him from meteor garden. But she also acted like a boy, but for hockey since the college she got into had no girls team. Then kinda same plot fell in love. Had plot twists n all. Overall I love both dramas! I recommend it

Loved this series. Love the relationships between the couples and between friends and relatives. The trust and love between the Emperor and the Prince is just beautiful. Poor Jiang, but the connection between him, Fei Yuan and the Prince was pretty heartwarming.
I hope Lord Fu took a leave and strolled down to Beirong before the Princess got tired of waiting. I was so happy to see the tassel on the sword scabbard when he came to the Emperor’s rescue. It was great to see the Princess not taking advantage and asking for him to marry her, and respecting his grief and asking him to be reinstated. The Princess’s brother is also pretty great that he’d forsake the marriage most advantageous to him, for the sake of his sister’s safety.
Awesome story and acting. The main characters are created beautifully, without making them too self righteous or obnoxious. Su Ci actually gets to be the hero in the story, without being a damsel in distress. I was initially hesitant to start this cos I didn’t like the name much, but I’m so very glad I gave it a chance, it was riveting to the end.

If it were longer it would disclose more details slowly but by making the episodes shorter it ties everything together quicker. Which is great too. I love every single main character and secondary character in this drama. They’re all significant in their own way and drama was just done so well! 🥰 I’m so satisfied.
Primera vez que quedo conforme con el final, he visto muchas dramas coreanos pero los finales siempre moría uno de los protagonista. Este final fue PERFECTO.

Love it! The most awesome romantic comedy mystery Sino drama I’ve ever watched. Definitely it’s one of my all time favs now. The cast chemistry was great. Good directing & script writing. Just enough episodes to digest on top of that. The romantic scenes between Prince Qi and Su Ci felt so real and genuine. They were just magical together. Zhang Ling He, even though this was your first debut as an actor, you won my heart. I wish to see you more in future dramas!!. For now, I’m going back to start again from episode one…

This is by far the best drama this year. Thank you for making it possible for people who do not speak the language. The main cast did a great job. Hoping to see them in another drama soon!

This is by far my top cdrama. Great chemistry between the couples in it,great plot no unnecessary prolonged scenes misunderstanding I rate it 10/10. Great acting skill and boy oh boy the romance was so livid😍😍😍

Okay but I need the main lead in another historical drama. With a fantastic storyline. I heard the wedding scene was not film because they didn’t have the budget for it since this is a small budget drama. I hope the two reunite and this is going into my watch again list. I love how the main lead talk to each other about their misunderstandings and it’s not draggy. Also prince Qi is the role model male lead. His ideas in women empowerment and justice. I love them!
I understand because I can see the hair on men are not properly fixed at the back, you can still see the short hair sticking out... not properly covered unless they intend to do it that way

So sad that this is the last ep, but this drama overall is so good. Amazing chemistry between the leads, supporting actors shined, and the case solving aspect is so refreshing. Thought that there'd be a deleted scene at the end, but guess not. This drama and the romance of tiger and rose is def my top fav dramas of 2020. Hope to see the leads in a future drama together!

I loved this one, but am I the only one who's kind of sad that guy who's wife died that was close to "prince Qi" never got to see that other princess again xD? (the one who confessed to him). I would of liked to at least see them talk or glance at each other at the end (or near the ending).

It was not him, I also thought it was him. The one who died is in love with his sister - in - law. The one that the princess Yunchuan likes is the other guy who also appeared on the last episode. :D So I think there is a pretty much chance for him to meet the princess again! ^^
Maybe they'll make a part 2, to continue their adventures, or make a storyline just for them, like they did, with eternal love. "Eternal Love Dreams"

Compatriota, te Recomiendo: "New Life Begins" que contiene varias Lecciones de Vida y la Prota (chica rural y con poca Instrucción) tiene mucha Personalidad así como también el Prota (6to Joven Señor, hijo del Emperador). El es quien primero se fija en ella y lucha a su modo Humilde para que ella se interese en él. Si tuviéramos esa Clase de Hombres 🙌 en nuestra Tierra la Vida sería + llevadera! Ese Custome Drama también tiene Camaradería, Gastronomía, Música muy Agradable, Humor, etc. Que lo Disfrutes! En 2do lugar Recomiendo a: "Love Like The Galaxy".

Main leads is just so pleasing to watch. A smile was always plastered to my face every time it's their scene 😄 Very heart warming.
So sad that this is the last episode. I wish they make season 2 of this. I really love the male lead. He is so sweet and caring. Whatever it takes he never misunderstand su ci.

I'm loving this trend in recent years where we're seeing mold-breaking characters, plots, etc. I was hesitant to watch this at first and am so glad I did. Such a good show!

I am so glad someone suggested this video. It was so satisfying more so than so many recents costume dramas. I would love to see this cast work together again they did such a good job bringing this story to life. I will watch this one again for sure. WELL DONE EVERYONE!!!!

Wonderful drama, great play by all the characters, respect for the screenwriter for not using such a famous sad ending in Chinese dramas. And very important to me, admiration for the main actors, that they were professionals and their kisses were very real.

The ending, I assume epi 32 was, was so representative of this ensemble, how they clicked in and out of their horrendous problems!!
