this game is like a guy wandering around a goblin forest and getting harassed by them and scaring them all away and occasionally their actually dangerous friends come in to try and help them

If you have to find five bodies with missing signs, and when you win you become a body with a missing sign, doesn't that mean five people got through that whole forest without screaming?
So like... are games like this developed by people who just truly have no comprehension of horror? Like absolutely zero concept of why something is scary? I mean... did they play it for themselves even? Did they walk through the woods getting obnoxiously harassed literally every 10 seconds and think "Ooooo, I knocked it out of the park with this one, boy."
"Oh wow, I took a naked human model, wackily stretched out random parts of his body, and made him run at you with a decades old, free screaming sound effect. I did such a good job" -the dev
Honestly the stupidest one was probably the really big one and his little brother who was simply scaled up from his little brother without any change to his animation or move speed so his feet slide along the ground with each step.
I think it's less they don't understand horror and more that they don't really care. This feels like an asset flip meant to make some easy money off people who don't know any better.
@@hulksmash3429 The big guy and his brother was straight up baffling, like what even is that scare? Even if a guy walking at you and fading into thin air was scary, why place an identical but noticeably larger model next to him? The exact same thing loses impact the second time. That's like a bedbananas joke, a weird little dude walking at you menacingly with his scaled up big brother behind him.
I kinda feel like the ACTUAL threats kinda take away from the point of the game. Kinda feels like the game getting pissed that you're not being loud enough from the spooks and punishing you for actually keeping your chill.
There's an issue there that the monsters that aren't threats aren't very scary because of it. If you know most things are just gonna go "ooga booga booga" at you but not actually hurt or impede you in any way, you're probably not going to really get scared. Being jumped by something that _will_ try to get you is much scarier and more likely to make you scream. However, it seems like the monsters here that are a danger either announce their presence or try to hide themselves until they've already gotten you, which means they aren't going to make you scream until it's already too late, which is an altogether different problem.
@@tripodranger7873 You can absolutely scare people with monsters that can't actually harm you though. Like that trashcan one that actually got Tomato. The real problem was also the way they implemented it here. Having these goblins appear every 2 minutes rather than say let the ambience "cook" the spectator like most good horror movies do just makes you get to used to expecting the jumpscare.
@@zenbear9952 I didn't say you couldn't, I just said that when you know that almost nothing is dangerous, it's a lot harder to get scared. Even if the monsters can't hurt you, the game needs to make it seem like they could.
@@tripodranger7873 The problem with the ones that kill you is the same as the ones who don't. If you're already not being scared by entities that are harmless when they do something then you're not going to be loud when one pops up who can, and by the time you realize they CAN hurt you, you're already dead because they seem to be one-tap. And once you differentiate the ones who can hurt you, then you can just avoid them when you catch them in your view. And if you can't avoid them, well repeated deaths kill the fear factor even more because then frustration sits in.
Talking about the "point" of a game as one note as this is very generous and I do think ironically misses what the game is doing. This is a carnival haunted house. It's cheap, it's fast and it exists primarily to scare someone that can't handle horror at all. You make them play it and laugh. Once the cheap effect wears off, you can laugh at the game together. I don't believe there's more here, let alone a potential.
This game seems like it would've been waaayyy scarier as a more ambiance unseen horror game. As is these lil freakaxoids really ruin the vibe by being goobers lmao
Local Fruit Streamer bullies a forest full of Ghouls
Community seething after he disrupts local giant spider migration.

I love this description of this video
The experience of the one stoic dude going through a haunted house and making all the performers feel embarrassed
He was being harsh on these ghouls, it was clearly their first day
This game has the same vibe as those screaming and farting Halloween videos.
they should advertise this game as a comedy, it's been a while since i've laughed this much

The monsters are sore losers.
I'm so glad Gnome decided to make this channel. I'm completely Gnome-pilled right now.
This is without a doubt the funniest thumbnail yet
some of the thumbnails are great but the ones with these deep cuts like Pumping Simulator, man, they just hit different

@@SnibsnBibs AND his feet slide because he has the same speed and animation as the little guy. Incredibly immersion breaking.
Tomato started this game as a detective and ended it as a ghoul talent recruiter
Guys DO NOT like this video DO NOT laugh, bullying IS NOT FUNNY Tomato is SICK!

The game has so so much atmospheric potential and wastes it with a jumpscare gimic
As soon as it gets dark it became a joke
gnome forced to watch and edit local tomato man run around yelling at ghouls at 10 pm
Tomato "bankrupted Monsters Inc" Gaming
The atmosphere at daytime in this game is pretty spooky, if only it could be accompanied by a good horror entity.
This is one of the best. Him very quickly devolving into feeling sorry for them then ruthlessly rating them is just so good
how am i supposed to play into this mechanic, i just jump when startled and not make any noises
Same here I don't make any noise at all
8:52 "Fuck it, I ate the opp"
Monsters Inc. denied applicants would be a very fitting title for this game
3:00 I swear I've heard that sound in Svengoolie. Not even in one of the movies, just in the show as a bit.
Feels like a pop up haunted house
Tomato has the ability to make any terrible bearable with his commentary
Confirmed tomato doesn't have normal human emotions
some dude walks in a forest and all the goblin ghouls try to scare him and fail miserably
Role-playing as a Monster Inc. HR/scout
this might be my favorite tomato stream of all time
You're scaring the duendes, Tomato! Stop being so loud!
Now this is a game worth a 12 part youtube series
My joy is measurable, and my day is improved.
The monster Inc training program
ty for the upload gnome
Actually bullying poor circus freaks...
Goon Vs. Ghouls
I mean the graphics of this game are really cool it is just a shame that it is jumpscare house
If you stare in the Abyss long enough....
The Abyss might poop down your Throat🤪
is this tomatos old neighbour PoV? i mean, our boy is a son of the forest.
This game feels like TH-camr/Streamer bait for reaction content or something. Not a good horror game that has suspense and buildup.
LOL wtf this game is supposed to be horror but it's honestly comedy.
New trend of games, horror monster having to be bullied by streamers
This really sucks this vod got completely nuked on twitch and youtube
LEAST scared man wanders into ghoul forest and is VERY unimpressed, begins rating ghouls, low ratings
hehe haha!
This game looks like a bad gmod horror map
im pissing rn
oh no!
Okay comment section, I want to play hide and seek. You hide, I seek. 10... 9...
*RUNS ON ALL 4s SCREAMING LIKE THE GMOD LADY*
Honestly the monster aren't even "THAT BAD" its just the way they are used
Haha funny man stream
Why does this game look oddly realistic?
This is a very good concept, I like the designs an gameplay but it does fall short a bit. I hope it inspires many other developers
Why does this game actually look so real, wtf?!
Unity assets are pretty good, this game deserves 0 credit for any of that though they just grabbed them
@thengyyy4062 i thought this game had some weird 3D camera mapping system where they just send a robot into the woods
Just standard photogrammetry.
no intro? tomato throwing.,.,,..,,
it was a 2 game stream. intro was on the crime scene cleaner video
