@@foilratvids I saw your vid in my feed, I’ll watch it tonight! I have a vid coming out tomorrow. So far no drawbacks. I’ve only had 2 sessions and I was pretty overpowered on both. It kinda has a different shape. Not sure if that was cause it’s a 5.1m and there’s just kite fabric or not. I was on the 2.9m briefly yesterday and I will have to look at the footage, I don’t remember what the canopy was doing 🤦♂️
Great work on these videos, we are really enjoying watching all of them. We just got the 2.9 and 4.0 and are keen to get into this new sport. We also just got this BRM information update. (below) I hope you have it too and will be doing the bridle change and posting your experiences with the changes soon. Far more depower, higher upwind and much larger wind range, wow that all sounds fantastic. This sounds like the Gen 2 of this wing without buying a new wing.😀 Aloha BRM Maliko Riders, The Maliko was launched only two months ago, and the range of riding disciplines is already growing. We’d like to provide you with information about a new performance tuning option. We designed the Maliko's original bridle configuration for the handling simplicity of full-time power and steering. We continue to recommend this for downwind purists and riders just getting started. Riders fully proficient with the Maliko that are interested in more advanced handling, please follow the link below to a video that demonstrates, step-by-step, how to reconfigure the bridle. We created this alternative tuning to rebalance some of the load from the front lines to the middle lines. This results in far more depower to ride more comfortably, higher upwind, and in a much larger wind range. We sincerely thank all of you for being the very first wave of parawing riders! Aloha, Greg
I certainly did see the update and I’ll review it as soon as I get out on the water. Can’t wait to try it out. Big promises! But there has to be a downfall to these gains and I’m guessing it will loose a little bit of low-end power. Let’s see!
Great insights. I’m on a similar part of the learning curve for sure. On a different, more exciting note, did you see the email from Greg with the alternative bridal arrangement instructions that unlocks better depower and more upwind angles?!
Thx for all the great content I only have an hour or two with my 5.1. I have felt like running up the lines and then holding only the leading edge helps me with deploying. I just struggle sometimes wrapping it into a bunch.
No worries mate! That’s a good idea. I’ll try it next time I’m out. The 5.1m and larger seem to be a bit harder to stash away due to their size. I would suggest getting a bigger pouch or belt and not the one that BRM is selling. I think the 4.0m is the biggest parawing you can comfortably fit in it
Excellent Tips. Agree 1. Coloured Leading Edge, 2. Different Colour Bridle Sets. I have flown a ParaWing in a DW session (slightly overpowered, large disorganized chop). Are there any conditions where you would consider a Kite leash for the bottom of the bar? I have yet to release the ParaWing while riding but in my conditions I think it would be difficult to retrieve.
Tks! Trying to share as much as I can about the struggles I’m encountering rather than the glossy riding clips. I haven’t found the need for a leash at all. I think it would only add to the line tangling chaos. A better alternative could be a small floatation strap on the bottom of the bar? I’ve tested letting go of it in the water and it floats for at least 60 seconds.
Great video. Thanks! I am just about ready to start trying to stow and redeploy. Tour experiences and discussion may provide some some shortcuts. Goodwork!
When stowing in general, either using the ‘surf stow’ or ‘full stow’ you want to make sure you ride downwind enough to make that movement as easy and fluid as possible. If the wind is strong enough and you don’t veer downwind enough you’ll be fighting the parawing to release its power.
awesome tips bud! eating this stuff up. keep up the stoke!
Good to hear! I just changed my line configuration and will post a test on that next 🤙
awesome! I changed mine and tried yesterday, it’s soooo much better. You’ll love it. Enjoy!!
Here is my two cents on the new bridle system: th-cam.com/video/-5d2dLdwvjI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RhMz9CWczkvHEuYi

That’s it brother! Go get it. Let us know how you go and if any of these tips helped 🤙
From 22:50 to 24:00, are you referring to the stow via all the lines, via just the front lines, or to both techniques?
