Hello to you VPRO Metropolis fans!
So, do you eat raw meat? Do you eat #meat at all? Or are you #vegan? Would you share your opinion about meat with us?
See you next week for a new video on VPRO Metropolis!

VPRO Metropolis Hello there VPRO Metropolis team and thank you for the interesting videos you upload! I am from the beautiful country of Greece and people here really love meat, but we avoid eating it raw. Maybe it's a misconception but we see raw meat a health hazard and so we prefer to overcook it instead. Anyway it's good to see what other eating habits people from around the world have and we should respect their customs and traditions. With lots of respect and greetings from Greece! 🇬🇷😀

Good vid. Would have been great if you discussed the main issue with raw meat ie parasites. My dad used to take koso medicine to kill them. He would measure them once excreted with some reaching two plus meters long Lol

The Hadiya who were part of the adal sultanate, along with Gurage , are known for Kitfo, a minced raw meat. Are you going to tell us Hadiyas and Gurages started eating Kitfo because of Adal? SMH.

These people are truly living the best life. Yes humans can indeed eat raw meat. Red meat, white read, fish meat, whatever meat. The only reason why people think eating meat is unhealthy is cuz the meat they’re eating are those processed stuffs from the West, and even if the meats aren’t processed, they were from unhealthy factory bred and raised animals, so the meat quality in itself is terrible
In Ethiopia, the raw meats are all from healthy farm animals and completely organic. That’s why these people are all in great health, unlike Westerners
The dude saying this is all “false information” is just dumb. His grandma is 114 years old, and his mom is 92 years old. Of course they’re gonna pass away at such ages, what does he expect?

In the 15th century the Ethiops (Abyssinia then) tried to invade a Somali Sultanate under Sultan Ahmed Gurrey the Great with his capital city in Harar. They were brutally crushed by the Somalis who conquered Abbysinia and ruled them (Amir Nur) for 82 years and since the Ethiopians ran into forests and could not cultivate or cook because they feared the Somalis will see the smoke and come for them, they resorted to hunting and eating raw meat.
First forward..... 21st century and the Ethiopians are still eating raw meat...
Thanks to Ahmed Gurrey the Great, Conqueror of the Horn of Africa.

So flavorful and healthy! As for the comments, we shouldn't be surprised tho, there are so many ignorant folk who spout nonsense. Granted, I have not tried beef that way. But I don't see anything wrong with it. It's part of the culture there and I think its great! One thing that I really appreciate in Ethiopian cuisine is how communal it is. You eat with your hands with your friends and family. We don't practice that here. And another thing I appreciate is how fresh the food is. you know where the food comes from.. you know who grew it. And seeing the whole process of how we get our food makes us appreciate it more. Here, we have the slightest idea. I'll take raw beef any day than some american slaughtered beef full of pesticides and antibiotics. Or chicken outsourced from china......or shrimp from asia also, full of antibiotics...

That's interesting. I was watching a video about old bodybuilders that used to eat raw meat and eggs. That kind of diet supposedly make them stronger than average people. This could be the reason why raw meat is bad named so much and there is a lot of fear mongering about it. They might don't want people to feel and be strong.

  • @kotsios555

I love how people accept something or not based on it's popularity. Eating raw meat is something that all animals do except human. Therefore it is safe to say that eating cooked meat is an unnatural practice among animals. Now, I won't deny any health issues about raw meat coming from UNNUTURALLY raised animals. That's where the focus should be.
