Je me rappelle quand j’étais petit j’étais parti au festival d’andaranboukane(nord du Mali 🇲🇱)avec mon père et ma sœur j’étais assis sur les pieds de khaira Arby et on causait 😭😭😭que ton âme repose en paix
I`m just listen Khaira Arby`s Deset Blues. I`m a bluesman. I have not listened Mali`s music before. During this day I have heard many Mali`s songs....and my soul has sould! As a matter in fact I dont`t know anything about Mali. Is there any places where you can listen this kind of music and maybe dance? How is about your religion? Does it refuse this kind of music and dancing? I`m from Finland, so far away from Mali to north. I would like to come to visit in Mali. Is there something I should know? I will travel only becouse of music. Is there anyone who could educate me?
Hi Yukka, This is music from North which is invaded nowdays with islamists extremists. A peaceful country with peaceful people but it has changed a lot now. Music from Northen Mali has been exiled. There some group you follow on TH-cam like Afel Bocoum, the Ali Farka Touré Band, Tinariwen. They all sing about the desert secrets, its people, women condition, and so on. You can attends some shows on western Europe.
I just finished the book 'The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu' by Joshua Hammer. It explained how over 500+ years the people of Timbuktu have had to push back against extremism and even hide their ancient manuscripts. They go through cycles of intolerance when extremist ideas are adopted by foolish people. Their culture being in exile is the most recent repeat of the same. I enjoyed the book a lot.
I'm sure you must be right, but I have this on a cassette from WorldService blog, and the notes say it is Ali Farke Toure on guitar (and singing here and there). I am now confused.
A father called in his oldest sons to teach his younger siblings....how to use fire....he said...if not taught properly...your young siblings will even burn there own house down...

Lovely. So sorry she and other musicians are being silenced by religious extremists in Mali right now.
It is Songhai language
Where did you get this video?
It reminds me a genre of Chinese folk called "hua er" which is popular among muslim ethnics
What language she is singing?
Of course. But more than any other religion, it's Islam that teaches such things and its followers who do them.
Let's just be honest and say that.
حلو

Bonjour à tous que dieu lui pardonner

Any ideology that involves threatening to cut the tongue out of singers is NOT pious by any means!
"religious extremists"?
How about pious Muslims obeying their ideology?
