The gravy we usually have on our biscuits is a white sausage gravy. Totally different then what you just had. Yall should try it sometime. Very delicious.

We usually slice the biscuit down the middle and put plain jelly and or plain honey in between.

    Your family is adorable! 😊
The gravy sold at Popeyes (brown Cajun) is NOT the gravy from the dish biscuits n gravy (pork sausage, white). Y'all get stuck on semantics. You have to consider that although many recipes originally come from Great Britain, the US has spent tha last 300 years expanding into rural territories with many regional variations in language. Y'all have been living on an island the last 2000 yrs with very consistent linguistics.

Scones are scones and Biscuits are Biscuits. Biscuits are not usually dipped in brown gravy. We like our brown gravy with our proteins and some starches.

The gravy for the 'biscuit' is white made with sausage.
Brown gravy is for the mashed potatoes. 😊

  • @nativetexan9776

What you are calling biscuits and gravy is misleading. We never have brown gravy with biscuits. The gravy is sausage gravy and is white. The spices in the sausage bits in the gravy, makes it awesome.

Every Brit who tries an American "biscuit" needs to know that they are NOT the same as scones, no matter how much people my want to compare the two. They are actually closer to a dinner roll.

Based on a previous job I can tell you that the chicken restaurant chains contract with a meat processor(s) to cut , weigh , pack and deliver the chicken filets, nuggets to their own specs. For example I went to a Tyson Chicken Processing plant in Georgia where they processed (I think)all the chicken for Hardy's. I was in the locker and packing session and saw all these boxes with Russian language on them and he told me they were all packed with chicken feet and sent to Russia under a contract. Nothing goes to waste. Even the feathers are processed for fertilizer, etc.

Since there's not any sausage gravy for the biscuits, it only left you to put the honey on them.

You can eat brown gravy with biscuits we usually use the biscuit to sop up gravy from mash smothered foods, it’s not southern “biscuits and gravy” its Completely separate but it’s pretty common thing to do, but Popeyes biscuits DO not go with gravy it goes with honey.

    • @frizmagnet2246

No different from crackers and biscuits to sop up soup or top off casseroles.

Just echoing what others have said: biscuits and white sausage gravy is a whole other experience. Popeyes biscuits are rather dense. But fluffy biscuits and white sausage gravy are the way - and are made with ingredients available in the UK. Google a recipe. You'll understand the hype

I love how the Brit’s call a biscuit a scone . I’m married to a Brit and we know the difference between a scone and biscuit. The biscuit and gravy is a totally not what you had, we have a white sausage gravy that is a southern basic food group on its own.

Nice family outing. I prefer Popeyes chicken to KFC's but KFC's gravy is way better than Popeyes. Looks like the gravy in England is darker than the gravy we get in the states. I don't know if it's on the menu there but I'd recommend Popeyes Red Beans and Rice as a side dish. Also try their Sweet Tea but be careful it is really really sweet almost like syrup.

    • @theparker-labfamily7532

The only thing I get from Popeyes here in Peoria Illinois are the honey bbq chicken wings, here they are $5.99 for 6 wings, about $6.60 with tax. And they are amazing, best chicken wings I have ever had. I just had 12 of them yesterday, because they had a deal to buy 6 and get 6 more for $1.00 extra. So I got 12 wings for about $8.00, with tax.

American biscuits are different than scones in that scones can be sweet or savory and are denser than biscuits.Biscuits are never sweet and are light and flaky when baked correctly. They can be eaten for breakfast with white sausage gravy over them or with butter and jam in-between . With dinner they are split open and buttered.
    We never eat them unsplit

Dip the biscuits in the mash and gravy... good lord... and butter. We know they are dry, this is why they are server with butter and honey... so they don't suck all the liquid out of your body and turn you to a lump of dusty chemicals.

Yeah. I don’t think the Popeyes biscuits I’ve had are good. Unfortunately. They are not very flaky. American scones and biscuits are very different. While I prefer biscuits, I make my husband scones often since they can be stored and eaten over several days. Biscuits are much better fresh, like croissants.

Sorry you didn't get good biscuits and gravy. Popeyes makes a terrible biscuit and you need real country gravy and Popeyes doesn't have that either. there is a Popeyes 5 blocks from my house. I like their mild chicken breast and fried shrimp. Your children are beautiful and charming. I have 3 kids, their all grown and have kids of their own. Enjoy them while they are young.
