    Thinking of doing the same - I have a 9m x 2.5m pad. Good to see using the base is ok, as well as going to 3m and putting a few rods into the ground as well will be fine.

    Been thinking about augering the garden and filling the 10 inch holes with concrete and using rods like you to save on a base
    Thinking of a large shed on scaffold planks hooked in a frame with the rods.
    I like what you have done.

    Question if you can help. Where do you take your 2.5m from for height? I have 2.5m on one side, level with my house level and another side at 3.1m to ground due the how much the garden falls away. Is that considered at 2.5m high or 3.1m? Thanks in advance

    What did you use to drill the 28mm holes in the concrete? Just a regular SDS drill or something special?

  • @doityourselfdave

    I realise not applicable in this case, but EasyPad now seem to be more affordable than the rod system and simpler setup. An EasyPad 3x3 kit is £380 currently. Did you consider pads at any point prior to settling on using your proven rod technique?
    Great channel though.

    Great stuff, your videos are really helpful. I have a fall of around 1m for the one I'm planning, is that borderline for the rods? It will be used as a gym

    • @allthegearuk
      @allthegearuk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends on what sort of exercise you will be doing. If you are lifting and dropping heavy weights I would go for concrete. A suspended floor would probably be fine for light weights and static machines but keep the joist spacing narrow.

      Ah - thank you! So there’s no such thing as a kit that includes all the square bases, nuts and square holders that you rest the wood on? You are putting together your own kit from the various stuff that bapp sells? Would be nice if u had a video or link to the actual parts - or even sold them yourselves. But I guess every job is different and requires different parts 😮

    Would those longer 1.5 M rods have any chance of bending under compression?

      It’s only a side wall and that end will be a store, so not much weight on them at all

      If you where really worried you could put in some rebar and with some shuttering cast them as concrete pillars.
