    What's the weirdest/most dangerous thing your pet ate?

      well my husky has megacolon so she needs enemas for other reasons, but as a vet I've removed a lot of strange things from dogs' bottoms. Usually labs.

      @@rosameryrojas-delcerro1059 Maybe it's also a matter of upbringing. It seemed like this dog hadn't really learned much because he was very exuberant; the vet could barely control him!

    My family puppy raised for the guide dogs for the blind. Our second one was a yellow lab who chewed the plaster off the wall in the utility room where his bed was. He was fine, didn’t throw up or anything, but we needed advice as a) this wasn’t our dog, and b) how do you discipline that behaviour out of them when you don’t see it? Luckily my dad phoned our supervisor from guide dogs, and was like ‘Kris is fine, but I have some new DIY to do….’. Like all our dogs, fosters and pets, can have as much dinner as they want within reason, plenty of toys and bones to chew, plenty of long walks and play time each day and if they destroy their bed in their puppy months, we’d rather that than the wall!

    • @rodneydawn4134
      @rodneydawn4134 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      exactly. Surgery is a useful tool, but often times manual extraction, colonic lavage, and colonoscopy are sufficient. Every tool we vets have has its purpose, and someone that immediately assumes one tool for every case is just out to profit from that rather than actually caring for the final outcome.

      "What we do know, is that for the most part, dogs have a short-term memory of about two minutes," says Dr. Finn. That means your dog may forget random events-or where you threw her ball during the last game of fetch-fairly quickly. But studies have shown that dogs retain some kinds of memories for longer.Aug 23, 2023
