- This week in Final Fantasy XIV we're maxing out all gathering jobs since I finished the crafting ones last week. Now that Dawntrail bumped the level cap up to 100 I have my work cut out for me. Fortunately, gathering jobs are SUPER easy to level. Here's how...

To answer your question on what I'm most looking forward to... I'd have to say Limited Jobs. I LOVE Blue Mage and am excited to see what new spells will be added. And we will be getting Beastmaster in one of the later patches and I'm curious to see what that is like.
I'm moderately concerned that they said one of their main concerns in developing Beastmaster is to "make it different than blue mage". And if it was a concern at ALL that it would be similar, than I kinda hate the potential direction they went with bst.
Win: we can charm or summon permanent mobs after taming them in some fashion. Fail: we turn into a monster and have our hotbars change
also really hoping we get to see the whalaqee tribe because it will be painfully sad if we dont. the blu mage appearing in the fishing quests clearly shows they care about the role still though

I'm surprised he didn't take the opportunity to make a video on ocean fishing. Gonna be another 2 or 3 years before he gets the chance to level up his fisher again.

The new planet thing (Ishgard Restoration's successor) and the new limited job are two things I'm pretty excited for. You're not kidding about "1 like = 1 cutscene"
Gatherers really need peloton. There was also Wachumeqimeqi in Tullyolal with the crafting and gathering deliveries that pay out pretty well exp wise. I finished my hand and land fairly quickly on those in 3 evenings this week.
What am I looking forward to? Emet-Selch to come back just to see the argument between him and Wuk Lamat about peace and love.

My favorite piece of knowledge about the TREMBLE meme is the voice actress also voiced Lyna in ShB, which in my eyes explains a lot of where the vocal Roll she gave that line came from lmao

I'm still in the free trial so I really don't know what to expect from the most recent expansion. I think exploratory zones are very interesting. Eureka is in the free trial, so I'm looking forward to getting there and trying out that kind of content. I'm also excited for new relic weapons! I just got done making my first Anima weapon, and it was very fun to work on.
If you don't want to use levequests on fishing, you can level it very fast via.... OCEAN FISHING. The way that most leveling guides said to go from 1-90 fishing? Yeah it is still awesome from 90-100.
Even before you mentioned it, I was thinking how glad I was you weren’t showing a whole lot of the dawntrail zones. For a variety of reasons I haven’t started the DT msq yet (which has been absolutely killing me, I’m dying to start) and knowing the zone names, seeing a little bit of the color palette and geography is one thing, it’s kinda impossible to avoid, but I’m very glad I’ll still get to see the full vista for the first time in context for myself. So, big respect for going so far as to zoom and angle your camera for this. Seems inconvenient. So I appreciate it!
The special tension between Revisit procs and "I should just use my cordial" is just like Superbolide vs Benediction.
Also there's a voice line in the new raid (R3N) that I feel like is going to be added to the "TREMBLE" repertoire...
Ive been watching your msq stream vods and while you have been suffering it has been cathartic to watch. Cant wait until you can talk about it on this channel.
I am most excited for ultimates and whatever the trial series will be.
Nothing feels as good as a +2 durability orange scrip unspoiled node proccing you over the arse with Revisit.
Crafting is where the real gil is, but you can still make quite nice gil with gathering jobs. Especially now when you can gather the mats that others need for their GC turn-ins.
What gil can you make as a crafter tho? Ive been an omni crafter and gatherer for 4 years and Ive only lost, not gained gil. I genuinely do not understand how crafting makes you money.
@@ridleyroid9060 Once your melds are sorted, spiritbond will make you hella bank when Savage drops in a week or so. Furniture is also usually a safe bet, there's always some obscure crafted one that sells for a ton with an easy recipe and if you desynth dungeon gear, you can sell some of the mats like leather for a decent amount while the tier is still new. Also HQ crafted gear items sell for a LOT due to GC turn-ins as Cider showcased last video. People will pay for the convenience, you just gotta put a little work in.

To craft Fisher I just got up to the point where you could do the Lightnin eel Leve then went and fished for those with a food buff on, almost every one I caught gave me like 600K exp. I was leveling up while fishing for eels then I turned in the eels for even bigger exp from the leves...took like an hour to max Fisher.
There are macros that allow you to lock-on to nodes and automatically move toward them, I would start using it.
I grinded the Sustainable Sourcing III for island sanctuary recently and put the macro I used in the video I uploaded for it.
I've binged all 35 episodes of this series over the past few days due to being sick and stuck at home, but now... I'm caught up. tragic. 😭
each one has been a banger, though - looking forwards to seeing how the grind progresses !
Your crafter and gatherer videos has really inspired me to get into those jobs!
I've always been somewhat intimated to try out the jobs because I've heard it's good to level them all up together. Seemed like a huge task but seeing you play and show how it ACTUALLY is like, it's so easy!!
All of them are level 30s now and ive been at it for about a week or so. Its so much more relaxing gameplay in contrast to the combat jobs and getting one shot by failing a mechanic 😅
Seeing you pass those map bottles physically hurt. Also don't forget about your saddlebag for some inventory management
Same boat, but with seeing him use scrips on materia instead of the folklore, though that's probably more on me because I kind of became the designated crafter of my FC for savage content back in Endwalker
While 90 nodes are exp capped, it's worth noting that they give full spiritbond with the changes DT made to how bonding works. Grab some pots and the FC buff and you can pentameld as soon as the Savage tier drops the new sets AND rake in gil form the materia since you'll have extras.

looking forward to... beastmaster! ive been wanting that as a job for years. anyway, i loved the msq. i cried. it was fantastic.
The trick with Fishing Custom Deliveries, I've found, is to catch something the person wants, then Identical Cast and Prize Catch to guarantee you get something that's in the biggest collectable range.
As for what I'm looking forward to...honestly I have no idea. I'm undoubtedly going to do the relic grind for Viper and Pictomancer since they don't have shiny weapons yet, so I'll say the open exploration area.
Restoration and deep dungeons are gonna have me in a death grip, and I'm already loving the raids! Im so excited for them

I'm really excited to die to savages and extremes a ton, I played a ton in ew but never cleared anything on content besides a late p9s and I finally got over my nervousness so I'm just jumping in, being honest with my experience and trying to have a good time!
I'm looking forward to the alliance raid. FF11 will be interesting to see more of/return
For the record, revisit is beautiful.
To clarify the change in endwalker was that you had an extra week to do the normals and get gear on the next tiers. The first tier was the same in endwalker as it is with Arcadion. The second and third tier will be the same as they were in endwalker

Although I doubt it, I still do hope that the very ambiguous declaration of "new plans for deep dungeon" as it was put in one of the fan fests will turn out to be more than just adding a 4th iteration of the same thing with only minor changes. They could do so much more with the idea of having a rouge-like dungeon and progression system in 14 at this point. At the very least I wanna see some real efforts made towards improving the situation for deep dungeon solo runs, mainly addressing the problem of losing entire runs to random disconnects.
Liked this video so much I told three people about it and then watched it again.
No question, I'm looking forward to Deep Dungeons and the Exploratory zone the most.

This is the first expansion where I've done crafting and gathering properly (as opposed to doing Ishgard, beast tribe and customer deliveries until I hit level cap then not really doing anything from there) and I'm really enjoying it. I'm excited to potentially get a set of BiS (or close) gear that I made myself.
I cannot wait to see your thoughts on the normal raids and I hope to see your first pulls make it into videos. They're so much fun but can be brutal with randoms, granted this whole expac can be brutal with randoms lol. No spoilies but I freakin' loved everything about the raids. mechanics, music, character design, stage design etc. I'm amped for you to get there! 🥰
As for the thing I'm most excited about, I'd say Beastmaster and the raids. I can't wait to see the next two tiers, the savages, and the A-raids!
Helpful tip to all gatherers, instead of having a map up or using your locate ability, you can use the Waymarks (A, B, C) and place them near the points when you find them the first time. Works for spearfishing as well as long as there is a "floor" to place the markers. I learned that tip from Twitter a few years ago and it helps if you're going to go braindead and get a lot of mats... (and you need a LOT for your level 100 gear). You can use (ABC and D when you're doing Emp. Nodes).

@@ridleyroid9060 Having waymarkers on your hotbar and placing them is "effort", lmao. People have dances, emotes, and macros on their hotbar but you think, as you're flying to the marker, its "effort" to click a button and click again before dismounting and then gathering. xD It takes less than a second to place a waymark.
Oh, by the way, a lot of people do this. Some people have been doing it longer than me. Where the heck do you think I got the idea from, like, three years ago? From someone who was already doing it.
I'm looking forward to the rest of the raid series the most so far. These are easily some of the best raids in the game and I'm really looking forward to the rest of those fights. Also, oddly enough, I'm looking forward to the Allied Society quests because I'm curious which groups they'll be and how their stories will play out, plus dat experience

I'm most excited for the world exploration side content. I have no idea how they're going to do it, but an iterative crafting zone that's like the Ishgard Restoration Project but able to be joined at anytime? I'm down with that.

I picked up the achievement for finishing the normal raid tier, which I won't name here. I will say that I very much enjoyed the raid tier. Mechanically, it's top notch, and narratively, it's perfectly serviceable.
Through roulettes and the like, I amassed enough Poetics to pick up Reforged: Majestic Manderville Knives and Majestic Manderville Greatsword. In the process, I leveled PCT to 90, picking up Let Me Paint You a Picture I, as well as Gotta Follow My Rainbow for finishing the related job quests. I did the last little bit of leveling with FATEs, and grabbed Free Market Friend: Il Mheg in the process. That let me buy a triple triad card in Il Mheg, which incidentally happened to push me over the threshold for Triple-decker XII.
All-in-all, another slow, listless week.
Piece of side content I'm most excited for? Beastmaster! I am VERY excited to see what they actually do with it. As one of the few proponents of Blue Mage, I have to say that, thus far, Limited Jobs are some of my favourite side content. ;)
I’m most looking forward to the Echoes of Vandiel Alliance Raid. I played thru 11 for the first time about a year before i started 14. So 2022. And i’m always excited anytime that game gets acknowledged.
Killing a few different birds with a few different stones.
And sticks.

i'm excited for bermuda triangle and whatever the heck the stellar exploration or whatever it's called is. less excited for the eventual alliance raids as i have 0 ties to 11, BUT i will be excited for new roulette content and glamour that comes with it
The 11 raids might be more interesting than you'd expect when you realize how many bits of the Dawntrail cast are actually from 11.

Really good
going at it slowly, i got a few mounts recently so my gil supplies are low. This means I'm doing it the good ol' way, crafting and gathering the daily GC turn ins manually, as well as some DT Leves.. Going pretty well and the role quests are fun too!
No time to grind scrips when im grinding the EX totems. Got the 99 at EX1, im at 85 at EX2, you surely would expect to at least get one of the mount via drops by this point but all my rolls have been garbage lol fml
I'm mostly just getting reaper up and saving tomestones so i can gear it for my static. I did get around to levelling fisher and wow the rest button is a godsend
Fished up enough for all my left side gear across 3 DoL in like 2 hours, once you figure out the right skills and locations it's eeeeeasy.
Glad to see you back on the grind mate! I had a lot of plans for achievement hunting this expansion but honestly my dislike of the MSQ is dampening my want to keep playing the game. Perhaps I'll just step away til 7.1 drops. Buuuut I wanna keep my house.... Bah.
I'm excited for the new variant and exploratory content and also both the next BLU update and Beastmaster being added, but the thing I'm most excited for is Eden Ultimate. My favorite normal raid series (so far) getting an ultimate, so ready for it
Cosmic exploration, Shades Triangle and Beastmaster are the things I have been most excited for since they were announced.

Fisher levels itself up by just doing the role quest
I struggled my way through MSQ, but I'm happy to get back into crafting/gathering again, want to be up to date this expansion on that stuff. I might enjoy the new "Bozja/Eureka" thing, because I came into ShB after Bozja was no longer really big and I didn't enjoy the slog grind through it, I heard there was quite the resurgence in interest end of Endwalker, but I was kind of on a break from the game at that point (IRL stuff).
For leveling fisher I just filled in some of the fishing log, each large is like 500kish each so I was pretty much done by the end of kozamauka lol
14:36 In terms of ilvl, the crafted gear is equal to the Extreme trial drops, aswell as the normal raid drops. I'm planning on getting gloves, helmet, chest and legs from Arcadion, plus get a pair of boots with the new scrips added in .05, the only crafted piece I'll need is a single ring to get to full i710+ on week 1 for Savage. Having full crafted might still be more optimal because of pentamelding, but personally I'm not going down that rabbithole.
19:14 For fishing collectables, using Patience 2 nearly guarantees that you clear the best collectability threshold. Just fishing with patience 2 on in general also gives you an absurd amount of xp to begin with (800k-900k per catch). I got fisher to 100 solely with the Tuliyollal collectables and fishing once or twice at every hole of DT. Just getting 6 of the required collectables usually netted me about 1-2 levels worth of xp, NOT counting actually handing them in.
And then there are healers. Whom they just shoved a bunch of piety on all but 2 left side arcadion pieces.
I'm honestly equally excited for all side content stuff. The thing i'm most excited for in general is the post MSQ. the 7.0 MSQ has been fantastic and refreshing and i can't wait to see where it goes.
Still holding out for Nero's gunhammer Mjolnir so I can quarry all the nodes on my minimap at once.
I'm looking forward to the planetary exploration thing, and ... we'll see if the bermuda triangle is when they finally make an exploratory zone I actually think is fun instead of a boring FATE-fest. I'm also looking forward to all the raids and trials and dungeons, because so far DT's have been really great!
Best part of any expansion that I’m always looking forward to: new gear = easier clear old content = speedruns
Might be a bit late to this, but if you're ever fishing for collectables, you want to have Patience II running since it increases your chance to get a large-size fish (which affects collectablity).

15:17 for me its the variant dungeon ... i love them ... i have no fix group for anything not even the 4 player content so most of that stuff i dont really care about ... but the normal variants you can solo and i loved all of them :D
I'm looking forward to the Alliance Raid -- is supposed to be FFXI related, and I'm a sucker for that.
my favorite way to lazy gather is to keybind my mount and the 'jump' action to my mouse. So I can do it one handed while I lay in bed and get ready to sleep.

Yup. It's funny, too, because 95% on gathering seems more like 65%, while 85% chance of HQ for crafting seems closer to 99%. Don't know why, but *shrugs* them be the apples.
revist is the absolute greatest thing to ever happen to gathering so far lol
personally loved the story myself. and honestly the final area hit me in the feels somehow harder than feelsbringers and feelswalker. though that may be because its on a topic that i have particular heavy emotional problems with.

but anyone who has particular trouble with letting go of loved ones and dealing with death and moving on probably feels the same
The final area of Dawntrail is genuinely some of the best storytelling this game has ever done. It's the first time they've actually utilized the fact that the story exists within the medium of video games as a method of storytelling.
The stuff you do in that last zone would literally only be possible in a video game. And it's amazing

I am looking forwards to the new version of Ishgard Restoration - Cosmic Exploration or whatever the exact name is/will be. The fact we get constant updated gather/crafter stuff, will keep me happier than any large scale battle zone like Bozja or Eureka ever could. I hated Bozja, and so I have no desire to go to the Shaded Triangle.

For fisher level 90-100 i just did the fisher role quest in tulliyolal and a few collectible appraisals between if i didnt reach the next level cap. Knowing how bad the leve grind is it hurts seeing the allowences get dumped like that 😅

the fastest way to level fishing is ocean fishing and it costs nothing at all

I'm really excited for Bozja 2: Electric Boogaloo, or whatever it ends up to be. I think it will make or break the expansion for a lot of people.
Also I really want to hear your opinion on msq, because I'm pretty sure it's gonna be somewhat unique lol.
will you be doing the deliverie quests as well? Can't remember if there's achievements involved but the stories are quite good. Fisher especially is fun.
I would love to do high end raiding again, but work and life isnt gonna let that be a thing unfortunately, too much time required and between other games I wanna play and what have you, as much as ill probably want the glam from them, im gonna likely end up sticking to the exploratory areas, Eureka is still some of my favourite content to do to this day, hopefully the weapon and armor glams are good from those areas.

Definitely looking forward to Alliance Raids, not because of the FFXI crossover but because i just like 24-man raids haha.
BTW, why not just do the Wachimeqimeqi Deliveries for XP? There's achievements and XP galore!

Why didn't you do Wachumequimequi? Fisher has it's own questline. Could probably get 4 or 5 levels for free while helping some autistic blue mage with fish as special interest. :P
Speaking of Fisher... Just learned about the "On a Boat V" achievement today... How's your progress on that one? My friend crunched the numbers, and its like, 180 hours of Ocean Fishing minimum.
Even without leves, they made fishing very easy this time. With FC buffs and food, you get 600k+ per HQ fish from Patience II. Also capped culinary desynth ... and unfortunately didn't find anything cool that I can squeeze out gil from the minion and glam streamers this time around :(
Alliance Raids are always fun
I'd be curious to hear your takes on the story, I personally enjoyed it a lot, but I can easily understand (most) peoples holdups on it lol.
