    I mean it feels faster with just no mufflers at least a little because lack of back pressure even though people deny that. Plus muffler are like 80-100.pounds extra weight

    Stock engine with 400hp? How long have you been running it at that power level?

    Thank you so much for this documented video about your car. I’m also in a very similar situation, I originally got my 21 fk7 as a commuter car, but over time started adding more mods and wanted more power. I’m currently on a couple of bolt ons, flex fuel and making around 246whp from a Phearable 2.5R tune for my CVT. I’ve read countless forums, talked to many people, and this summer I plan on running a big turbo kit. Hearing the big turbo spool in your manual fk7 sounded so good, it makes me want to get one as well. Besides transmission issues, I understand that our rods are terrible, so if you were to ever push the power, I would suggest potentially swapping the rods to something stronger. I’m not sure if you upgraded your brake pads or not, but if you haven’t yet, I would also recommend doing so or even consider getting a big brake kit from 27won or retrofit genesis coupe brembos. If you’re making all of that power, it’s important to have enough stopping power as well.
    Anyways, I really enjoyed watching the entire thing, it gives me a lot of insight for my fk7 as well.

      Glad the video helped. I did forget to mention in the video that the rods in the L15BA in the hatch (59B) are weaker than the rods found in the L15B7 non Si and L15B7 si (5PA)

    Vegas local here. I have the same car also in a 6 speed. I really respect your build. It motivates me to do some light mods on my fk7. I was thinking Full exhaust and a light tune. Do you think that's safe enough for a stock clutch?

    • @d0mochi

      Your stock clutch will be ok until you start messing with ethanol. As long as you’re bot flooring it below 4000 rpm from 3rd gear and up.

    RV6 now offers a drop in for the 1.5L
    Ive been beta testing their drop in for the FK8 which is the R660 and have had good luck with it so far - 566whp@7600 on 30psi e55
    I think they make an R365 red for the L15
    The biggest thing on these DI motors is the headstuds stretch as you up the dynamic pressure - even without knock the head will lift as the headstuds on the L15 are much wealer than the K20c1
    Arp makes great headstuds and anyone wanting to really pound on their car should consider the cost of an upgraded headgasket, headstuds and valvetrain ....be able to run more boost/timing with less worries - also big turbo is safer than stock turbo as stock turbo spools so fast it can snap rods at 3k rpm easily.
    On my FK8 I bring in max boost around 4800 to keep the rods happy (440ftlbs) the clutch slipped around 4200 where i could easily bring the power in but stock clutch held the power solid at 4800.
    Youll always want more power - had a 2017 Si bone stock for years - decided for my goals the Type R made more sense sinking in tons of money. No regrets - just lots of spent money 😂
    Keep the torque.below 300ftlbs and above 4000 and i think the motor should be ok. Torque down low kills motors/snaps rods/put holes in blocks. Top end power is safe power
    Nice vid 👌

    • @d0mochi
      @d0mochi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The R660 for the k20c is just a whole different animal for compared to the r365 for the L15. The r365 didn’t look like it made housing diameter changes or at least not much, it’s a good unit but I don’t think it was 400+ whp good. That’s why I ended up with a big frame turbo kit. If I had an FK8 no question I would get the r660.

    • @TheFK8Life
      @TheFK8Life ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @d0mochi full frame is always better just more upfront vs typical bolt-on riute that leads to drop in.
      I'll be going full frame when u build the bottom end and aim for 800whp+
      I think stock bottom end is iffy around 650whp
      L15 with ported head, valvetrain and full frame should see 600whp - ososik keeps messing with nitrous which I would avoid but he's chasing a number so I get it.
      I think a g25-660 on an L15 would be fun

    I've seen channels where the 10th gen Civic 1.5 l turbo especially the si gets 500hp+ . Now the 11thgen civics will blow the motor, their not as strong. .

    • @d0mochi
      @d0mochi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @LynnDisclose
      @LynnDisclose ปีที่แล้ว

      @@d0mochi nah, look up ososik, or put in 11thgen si vs. 11thgen type r. The 11thgen si motor blew while being tracked when pushed.The guys will tell you they say the 10thgen is stronger because when they loaded the 11thgen up with power 300+ with power flex fuel kit and all, it blew the motor. But with the 10thgen Civic si they loaded it up with 500+ horsepower and it lasted even while it being tracked. So they came to a conclusion that the 11thgen Civics appears weaker. Now the 11thgen type r year that's powerful, it's made to push.

    • @d0mochi
      @d0mochi  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LynnDisclose a 300 hp L15 which is probably on ethanol stock turbo, 10th gen or 11th gen will blow especially on a road race course. I hope you realize how hard it is on the engine to be road raced where it’s constantly being beaten on the whole few minutes it’s being raced including hard downshifts, you can’t compare that to Eman’s 10th gen Si making 460 whp on a stock engine that only does pulls here and there

    • @LynnDisclose
      @LynnDisclose ปีที่แล้ว

      @@d0mochi the 11thgen si I'm talking about was not stock turbo, I'm meaning fully modified cars 10thgen and 11thgen , but even ethanol on stock 10th gen will last longer. I'm saying on the 11th gen the power blew the motor more easily, but the 10th gen upheld the power without braking. Like some 10th gen get over 600 hp and the motor still not blown. It probably will happen, eventually, but the 11th gen blows way before all that power. But the 11thgen type r can be pushed and abused and won't brake.
