I found this out by accident one day! Great use for book drafts, assigned reading homework, and so on. Should be a much more publicly shared feature!

You can also upload PDFs into your kindle library! Maybe consider doing that for your book draft.

Another great program for text to speech is Natural Readers. Great for pasting in text you're working on and hearing how it translates when someone reads it. Thanks for the video!

That's right!! You can totally use this for any ebook in your library which I totally started doing more of in the last few days too, especially if an audiobook doesn't yet exist for a book I want to read. So smart!! And THANK YOU LISA!!

@@AuthorBrittanyWang This is indeed pretty fantastic! I'm in love with the aspect of (I travel a lot) reading from a kindle on a train and then queuing up the page on my iphone when leaving the train to continue with the book by listening to it! Thank you for making this video, very appreciated! Good luck with your book, what a great personal achievement!

I have been using this tip for years. For one thing, it makes it so much easier to "hear" how your names and locations "sound" to a reader. if the audio on the Kindle messes up a character name, for example, you should probably change it to make it easier for the reader to pronounce, even in their mind as they read. I also use it in the editing phase because you can catch things like missing words, repeated words, repeated phrase too close together, misspellings that are real words but not the one you meant, etc. It's a great tool for writers.

OMG this is amazing! I've been desperately wanting to read books on my tbr, but I have NO time to sit and hold a book/kindle. Since most of them do not have an audible edition, this solution will finally help me chip away at my extensive tbr! THANK YOU!

Almost same in case of android.
    1. Go to accessibility
    2. Search Talk to speech option
    3. On text to speech shortcut
    4. Choose your language..also voices given in that language ,then download it
    5. Select your shortcut gesture
    6. On background player
    7. Here you go...now enjoy ur player

Love your reaction to hearing your book read with this method! I don't know about other Kindle Fire devices, but I've been using my Fire 10 to read my chapters to me while I'm editing for my betas. I catch a lot more errors that way. The Fire 10 has a feature built into the Kindle app for this instead of having to go into device settings.

Brittany, you have no idea how long I've been looking for this feature!! It is AMAZING!! I have some older kindle books that do not support Audible narration. I had tried to make it work on my Android but always ended up activating a voice assistant that would read the icons and button functions on the telephone, VERY ANNOYING!! It acted more like the voice-over feature on iphone. Perhaps there is some other way but I never found it! After following your suggestions on my iphone it worked seamlessly! I picked Ava's American premium voice! It tends to ramble through subtitles but the punctuation is pretty accurate. I slow the reading down a bit for better results. Now I can go on my jogs and listen to my older Kindle books that don't support narration. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!😄

Oh, also, you can use reading Kindle books using text to speech on Windows 10 and 11. But, here's the catch, by default you're only gonna get 3 voices. Microsoft David, Mark, and Zira. On 11, you can install 3 new voices, but they only work with narrator. These voices are Aria, Jenny, and Guy. These voices however, are on Microsoft edge. You can open PDF files in edge and have them read aloud. There are a ton of different voices. They are listed out, so if you wanna use a certain voice besides Aria, you're gonna have to scroll a little bit. Now, of course, in the windows subsystem for android, Kindle is actually usable with text to speech. By default, it only has Microsoft Mark, I believe. Not too sure. If you don't like that voice, well, you can't do much about that.
