  • When it comes to largemouth bass there isn't much they won't eat. This makes the perfect opportunity to get creative with colors and materials.

    It depends on the water depth. I have used a fast sinking leader even with floating divers. My set up would be 4 feet 20lb mono, 2 feet fast sinking leader, 4 feet 10-12 lb mono. When you strip the fly dives deep then slowly comes back to the surface. Works great.
    Good Luck Tim

    I'm a newbie at fly fishing so please forgive a dumb question. What size rod and line? Is it too big for 6wt?

    • @TheFlymanJim
      @TheFlymanJim  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mike, this fly is very light and can probably be cast with a smaller weight rod than that. So 6 wt is going to work good.

    Yes sir I want to thank u on all ur replys u send me that's why I keep putting my how to questions to u I have a big one that may not really matter not sure it concerns tying the head on a streamer I always seem to get one side little wider than the other in other words one side the left side is always a little fatter if u was to look at it from top of bait the left side sort of bait looks like it is going to a angle down the hook and right side of hook head looks very straight other words left side is a little wild I guess it a silly question I just want to be sure it want affect the balance of bait I know if u don't tie ur material on hook shank evenly bait will tend not to cast as good that's what I heard anyway so I just don't know what I doing not to get both side of steamer head even one side little off one side is not it may not matter don't know thank u for any reply

      You just have to watch when you tie in the far side so that you tie it even with the close side meaning if you tie the saddle hackle on the close side first at the side of the hook make sure the far hackle gets tied in the same position.

  • @CountryMaster16
    @CountryMaster16 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    mh i wonder as i see the weedless hook up close i guess you could just tye it yourself, also you would not have that bulk on the hook

    • @TheFlymanJim
      @TheFlymanJim  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right if I tied the weed guard in myself it would be less bulk. But sometimes I but hooks that have the weed guard on them already. it doesn't make any difference in the way it fishes.

    • @CountryMaster16
      @CountryMaster16 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i just npoticed it in my youthfull scrippelyness. and yeah would be kind of strange if it would make a diffrence in fishing it you only had more space to tye

    nice fly but there kinda too much stuff on it, a bunch of materials overlapping and at the end we dont really see the purple hackle , its a nice fly tho
