Most of this is common sense when traveling anywhere… but it’s wild how authoritarian some of these rules are.

Yes, Russia is a traditional country. Memorials or churches imply correct behavior. Being LGBT is not a crime, your personal life is your private matter. But a public demonstration of your sexual deviations will cause strong disapproval from others and may even be regarded as promoting LGBT ideology, and this is already punishable.
No need to set fire to cars or break windows - you will be punished for petty hooliganism. If you decide to rob a store - it's not like in America - you will be detained without hesitation and can be sent to jail.
Being drunk is NOT an excuse for bad behavior, but rather an aggravating circumstance.
Be polite to the police and NEVER get into a fight with them. But being polite to the police practically guarantees that you will be polite on their part.
If you have any doubts, look at how Russians behave in a given situation and do the same. Nothing special is required from your behavior in Russia, just common sense.

u.s. travel advisory on russia: "Russia - Level 4: Do Not Travel.......Do not travel to Russia due to the unpredictable consequences of the unprovoked full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces, the potential for harassment and the singling out of U.S. citizens for detention by Russian government security officials, the arbitrary enforcement of local law, limited flights into and out of Russia, the Embassy’s limited ability to assist U.S. citizens in Russia, and the possibility of terrorism. U.S. citizens residing or travelling in Russia should depart immediately. Exercise increased caution due to the risk of wrongful detentions" ......what the fuuk are you doing in russia?

Don't worry, ordinary Russians call it a war. Not like we support war, we support the Russians who lived in Ukraine for centuries, even before Ukraine became a thing, and who have to deal with nationalist or even nazi Ukrainians totally hostile to them. And we also support Ukrainians who fled their country because they are afraid of the Zelensky regime, that banned all opposition parties, closed all TV channels in Russian, etc., and, yeah, there are hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians for whom Russian is a native language. I personally have been donating 1/10 of my salary monthly for humanitarian aid for the residents of Donbass region for two years now.
