I think the spring mechanism need to be in reverse manner. the idea behind this project is amazing. cuz this idea will inspire other like me to do projects based on the concept of this video. thanks and keep it up

I came home this morening and my lock won't open. guess what? the motor fried because there is power running through it but it cannot spin! but that wasn't a big problem. all i had to do was rotate the exposed gear! lol.
The motor and gears are overkill and the high speed of the brush motor is jamming the gear at the end of its track. A simple solenoid actuator from an old washer or washing machine would work do the job without the extra complexity and risk of gear damage.
