Critique: Song choice: 10/10. It's one of my favorite songs in the last 20+ yrs. Arrangement: 8/10. Should have built up the song, crescendoing to a higher key. Sound Mixing: 5/10. Guy was asleep on the job. Bass heavy mix. Drums are indistinct. Rhodes piano is not EQed to sound more bell-like. When singing solos are done, volume of soloist is not raised. EQs of other instruments: eguitar, bass, and singers were not done I suspect. Video: 5/10. Distracting. You can tell that multiple takes were done to get the shots required. It must have been tiring for the musicians since the room was so tight to have to so many retakes. You can tell by the lack of mic discipline (esp. the male singer) that the song you hear was NOT recorded in sync with the video. I would have preferred less focus on video MTV style "performance" and more on Spirit-led one-take audio-first recording. Credits.
