BJJ guy with the best top control on top in divison. Jan, Antony Smith, Santos… all of them had absolutely zero to offer when Glover was on top of them. Jiri reversed position many times. Escaped tons of subs. People were saying that Jiri has no cardio. That after 2nd round it is all Glover. And that Glover when he gets 1 takedown it is over in 1 minute. Now Jiri subs the champ, best ground guy in division and for some weird reason people keep disrespecting and underestimating him. I had to get it out of my system. Great fight. Respect to both. These 2 guys will meet in hall of fame 1 day.
Thank you for saying this, I completely agree. That was a brutal war and both sides. It shocked us fans and made us revaluate both fighters. Major props to Glover for hanging in there for 5 rounds with a guy who knocked sooo many fighters lights out. Jiri still have to work on his defense, he knows it and he comments on it in his interviews. He’s an evolving fighter and I’m excited to see what the new champ brings to the LH division.
