I love that the chore theme in this track plays during a love scene in the movie Underworld 2 - not often a noise / death industrial artist features in a movie soundtrack.
@@shru_u It really is a disappointment. Here's what the "purified" version of Pure Skin's bandcamp page (on Annihilvs) has to say: _Originally released on CD by NCC Records in May 2006. This "purified" version omits the two versions of THE STARS AND THE SCARS, which appeared on the CD._ _In the fall of 2007, I was contacted by the legal department of Cherry Hill Music Publishing asking me to report all income from, and source of permission for, my use of a sample from the score for the movie UNDERWORLD that appears in this song (actually, I'd sampled the film itself, rather than just the soundtrack). Some time later, I'd been informed by Tony Young of AUTOCLAV 1.1 that his ex-fiancee, Erica Dunham of Unter Null, to whom I'd never done a single wrong, apparently had reported my use of this sample to the film's composer. I see no motive on his part to lie about this._ _When I responded to the lawyer that the album had been pressed in a run of fewer than 500 copies, and that nobody had in fact benefitted financially from the release, I never heard from him again. However, I did tell him I'd never again release the track using the offending sample, and while there was never any response, I'd like to remain true to my word. I could always remix the track with the sample removed, but what would be the point? (maybe someday)_ _The best part of the story is that, while I was working on that track, I'd been in contact with Brian Lustmord, who had done the sound design for the movie, and whose original loop had been adapted by the composer for the score. While he never gave me "official" permission to use the sample, and in fact warned me against just the kind of thing that ended up happening, he wasn't exactly unkind with his reactions to the track._ There's actually a number of other tracks missing from that reissue, but that's because they're on a separate NTT compilation through the same label.
I dont understand how knowing other people are sad too makes you feel better, no matter how im feeling this music just makes it worse and hurt more thats why i listen to it, i dont understand my reasons either

Believe it or not, the core string sample that starts the song off is from the end of one of the Underworld movies! I heard it when my wife was watching it one day and realized OH MY GOD I KNOW THAT SAMPLE! You can hear it cleanly from about :10 to :36.
