I have been on the fence about buying a BMPCC for a while, then yesterday I found your channel and watched pretty much all the videos. After this video in particular I went and ordered one immediately on ebay. I can wait for it to arrive and get creating. Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful work and for the inspiration.

Thank you James, your words are really motivating. I am sure you re going to have a lot of fun with the bmpcc, you will never regret this purchase. It's the best cam I've ever own, it has the most decent video image. Is the camera that i never cared about for additional stuff or crazy good lenses... it works perfect just with the cheapest lens option and 5 batteries😉!!! Thanks for watching, Peace.

I can see the noise (low-light shots) on my HDR 4K monitor but its very film-like so its not at all distracting. I'm positive it wouldn't have been nearly as noticeable if it was recorded using a faster lens like the Lumix 25mm 1.7 that i use on my BMPCC OG. I also use a Canon EOS-M (Magic Lantern) and they match really well. Both of these cameras are amazing when used right. The sound track works great on this video. Dude, keep the videos coming.

Lumix 12-35 its a great lens, very sharp, nice colour and pretty much compact for the Bmpcc's size. I think its the perfect match with BMPCC. As you can notice is the only lens i use on my Bmpcc. The I.S. its extremely helpful. As for the night shots, some shots was operated in 1600 ISO and some other shots in 800 ISO. I was planning to casually decide what to do about lenses, but this edit has motivated me to get this little guy rigged up and shooting. The lens option that you shot this with is a bit more than I want to invest into this camera.

This Video was randomly suggested to me - So I am a bit lost on context. Though if it is to show off the camera, does it? the photography is very nice bit slow of an edit for me personally though the shots and pacing are nice. nothing wrong though in terms of technical performance you can see the camera is lacking in todays standards. Though is it a bad camera? Maybe. can you shoot nice things with it? certainly, so what is my take away? The highlights are a bit blown with a harsh roll off and the noise is almost always present. (I am watching on a 32" 4K screen, so its more noticeable) it has a nice enough look and you have graded it well. you seem to know the camera which is helping out here. Does it make me want to get one?
    Not really.
I am sure what I have said technically could be fixed from this video and though they may be technicalities, it doesn't diminish the craft here, you have done a great job. though the truth of the matter is that you can get cameras with larger sensors better signal to noise with faster sensor read outs for really cheap these days (comparatively) and with more res too.
Its a nice image though in a very pocketable size and this video is testament to that. Though I only got 4:10 in sorry

    • @heartshapedfilms
      @heartshapedfilms 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@snydereric6852 I believe everything I said is valid. While I'd be surprised the avengers use this as a quote unquote b camera, I could believe it being used as a crash cam
Then again I am pretty sure in today's world they'd use something else with better Dr signal to noise . Like a pocket 4k or 6k or zcam
Though even if they did use the og pocket they probably rigged it with a speed booster and got the best out of it while using some of the best post houses to grade it. With even that being said why did they choose it? When their acam is an arri or Sony Venice? It's probably for somewhere they can't put the arri or because they don't want to damage 100k cameras and 100k lenses and maybe the DP just likes it art is nuanced while the people who make these projects are too, does it make it objectively a good camera in 2024 - no it doesn't.
Though you're right to your opinion I actually in fact know a boring amount about cameras but you don't know me and I just shared my opinion based on what I watched, it wasn't meant to offend you or be offensive and just add to the discussion so I don't know why you come to be bullish and say I know nothing and be rude. There is no need for it. You could just add your option and discuss it. Which may have made for something insightful for both of us.

@@heartshapedfilms Hello you ;) First of all, I'd like to sincerely apologize ; (i deleted my nasty part of my comment ; the day I wrote you, i was in a very bad mood after a rough day, and i regret what i wrote, so i took it off ; it wasn't smart, it was helping and it was stupid of me because I behaved very stupid).
This said, back to the real subject, yes you are right ; it's used a b cam for crash or dangerous scene (to avoid to break an expensive Arri).
I'm not an expert but I think the BMPCC OG and it's little sister BMMCC have a closer look to Arri's sensor (fairchild sensor) than the 4k or 6K. Denis Villeneuve's Arrival and even Spectre (or another James Bond) where shot with a 2.7k camera (which fairchild secret sauce sensor is very close to the bmpcc og) ; and it's only 2.7K.
Sometimes, i like to think there is a reason why the DP of Tenet dropped this camera in the frame in the movie ; because they could have done any partnership/advertisement to promote a brand new camera. (see link below to see the picture)
      www.reddit.com/r/cinematography/comments/10hywy8/tenet_2020_im_trying_to_identity_the_camera_and/?

@@SimplicityForGood I don’t have any experience with the 4K so I can’t really help you to decide, all I know is that the OG is a stunning camera, but have in mind that it’s a difficult camera to work with!

@@SimplicityForGood shooting with the camera and a lens only attached (not geared) as I do, the advantages are, light and small set up but the disadvantages are more, low battery life (30’ max), you can work only with ND filter, shaky footage, dark LCD screen! For me this camera is a Cinema Pocket camera as it meant to be!
