    If you took this knot with the loose ends and attached it to a dowel using the knot itself as the loop around the dowel and did a larks head knot....you could do that all along the dowel and have it look like a flower lined dowel!!! BEAUTIFUL!

    Celtic. The C sounds like a K. And people who work with Paracord call that a Turks head knot.

      ds southern Not just paracord. The name Turk's Head Knot comes from the sailors inspired by the turbans of the Osmans / Turkish men they encountered on their travels.There is a whole chapter in Ashley's Book of Knots. The Gauchos of South America or the Mexican / South California area called them differently.
