Love ur videos Scott. Don’t forget I think the best accessory for this radio and is probably the reason I will buy several of these is the 18650 battery case!!!

Have this radio in orange. I wanted a non-complex, Superherhet, IP67, 5W, GMRS Rx only HT that sounded great and allowed me to see the screen in the sun. This is it. Had the UV9GX that was sold. Lots of bells and whistles that I didn’t want/need. Plus, the screen on that thing is useless even with a little sun.

Great video! Thank you. I purchased the replacement antenna and a Specter Gear pouch for my KG-88. It is the best radio pouch I have ever used! Solid work.

Thanks for the great review, looks like a really compact, high quality transceiver. I have been wanting something more powerful than my Radiodity GM-N1 and better than my Baofeng 5W but not as complicated. ‘73

So… is the 701G better than the OEM 88G antenna? In your discussion, it sounded like you were going that way. But at the end of that portion, it wasn’t clear what you were saying.

My best answer is that there is currently a Nagoya NA-701G attached to my KG-S88G. Having said that, the factory antenna is just as good as the NA-701G in terms of TX/RX capabilities. But the NA-701G adds a decent degree of flexibility that the much stiffer factory antenna does not have. And it looks nice on the radio.

Aren't the two screws that came in the plastic bag for the belt clip?

No. Those are thumbscrews for the USB cover. I tried them anyway and they are too small for the belt clip screw holes.
