175 minutes in length this double DVD offers the most comprehensive footage of the largest horse fair in Europe. Appleby Fair is by far the most popular fair in Europe, with visitors and tourists flocking from England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the entire globe.
I visited a horse drive on Sunday 26th of August 2012 ''Eddies Horse Fair' Horden, County Durham but arrived a day too soon for the drive but still plenty of action for me to film & hopefully I will get the correct day next year.
The weather was excellent but the field was very heavy going due to the recent rain.
Visitors had arrived from Ireland, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Cumbria, Northumberland & much nearer County Durham for this ever growing event 'a miini Appleby Horse Fair'.
As well as the horses in the drive many travellers had brought along many horses to deal, tack & carts were also for-sale.

We should have more of this and leave the cars at home; less gas, less air pollution, more fun! What a great way to spend the day. Make it a family event. Come, camp out and have driving events inside a show ring with ribbons and cups. Love it!

A large number of people that attend Horse Drive treat it as an holiday, once the fair is over they pack-up and head back to their homes, enthusiasts that love the nostalgia.

Gypsy cobs have become very popular here in the US over the last five to ten years but there still aren't enough of them around to have these kinds of events. People are too busy struggling with 'austerity". Better we dump cars, go green and get some REAL horsepower into our lives :D

the site a bite muddy an the horse hooves will need a good wash because of the germs in the mud but other than that it was pretty ok
