Informative video. The parts being replaced are called "buttons" in the parts manual and the number is AM136805. The belt part # is M174026. Our company paid $22.71 for the clutch kit/buttons and $83.89 for the belt. We've got 6 of these Gators. The John Deere 3 wheel ball field/sand trap machine has the same clutch system.
i have to swap out the belt on a 2000 4x2 that has the same jumping problem. i fugured it was the belt. the farmer i am doing it for is 85, and i also cut the driver's side seat bar off to make it easier for him yo get out of it. if you want to do the same, beware the fuel tank vent hose is routed through the bar. i found out after i cut it off. i got 6 feet of fuel line and relocated it to the pass. side. just a heads up. thanx for the vid. it is what i was expecting, but forewarned is forearmed.
Thanks man. Please keep up the videos. You helped me out a lot and I wanted to drop a like and comment because that helps the TH-cam algorithm bump you up more I guess.

Has anyone fixed a very loud brake on these things? It doesn't have brakes on the hubs but it has an internal brake somewhere down around the secondary clutch. Is there a clutch basket somewhere inside the casing?

I can't get my nut off the drive belt thingy. Argh. Breaker bar can't do it. I used wd40 and nothing. Even jacked it up so the tires won't go forward when trying to turn the whole thing turned. Any ideas 💡 or suggestions?
Gears will never be phased out. They all have their place
You are so lucky putting on that secondary clutch. One spline is offset so it only goes on a certain way. Learned alot though.

You might try “Off Road Belts” for a replacement belt at a reasonable price, they can generally match part it you have OEM number

Use only john deere hydraulic transmission oil or case hytrans oils in them. They are meant for the wet brake system in the transmission
@@danhammond8406 I am aware of the oil but have you ever changed the brake unit?

Pb blaster is better than wd40, a impact wrench if you can get it on works wonders sometimes.
Thank you
good work!
