Very cool to see NYC skyline from the AT but if you didn’t know where to zoom in it would be unnoticed. At night it would be lit up I guess. Funny the geology museum was closed but you got a special speed showing 😊
Happy Anniversary! Did you enjoy the bouncyness of the bridge? I used to run across the mid-hudson bridge (2 bridges north) when I was in college and the bouncyness freaked me out.
What did you do at Palisades Parkway--take the detour or dart across? One hiker said the official detour was so steep she would have felt safer crossing the highway!
WOW, you are moving very fast. Did you see the ruins of the Revolutionary War vaccination site? There are some very interesting old mill sites(only the stone foundations left). The Devil's Walking stick is also called the Beekeepers' Tree. When mine bloom during the summer they attract big crowds of bees. You will probably be near the CT/MA border. Another good video. You should have a good many leaves at sea level now. At elevation is a different story. Nothing better than hearing trains going by at night. Well, maybe riverboats . . .
It might be easier to catch an Amtrak to Hartford. If you were a bit more north, I might have been able to work something out for you. You’re probably there already by the time this is posted. Safe travels.
