At any rate, so often it is saddening to find young, solid talent like hers forgotten in the meat-grinder that is the movie industry. I feared the same would be Ryoko's lot in life, but now I've found this Asia Society video. Hooray! It's intensely heartening to learn in the video that she has persevered during that time, and grown into a true star not only in Japan, but on Broadway.

All surgeons are physicians; not all physicians are surgeons. Gotta be the MD (physician) first then become the specialist/surgeon... calling her a genius physician (even if it sounded like magician lol) is still accurate since half of her brilliance is in diagnostic work which is what a lot of non-surgeon physicians do long before a patient makes it to surgery consultations.
