I remember Rickstah saying afterwards that his super was intentional and he knew it would interact that way with Bryan's RD. Which is complete BS, we all knew he was spamming EX DP lol
It also feels terrible being on the receiving end, knowing you could've ended the match with just one poke, and now they have a bunch of health back and you need to take a bigger risk to finish them off. Without comeback mechanics, you feel like a dumbass for losing... But with it, you just feel robbed which is a worse feeling.
Naw. Personally, I don't feel dumb when someone makes a comeback on me without comback mechanics. In those cases I tend to respect the other player's skill and adaptation as a fair win and blame my lack of skill. But when I get scrubbed out by rage arts, it just makes me mad. It's f the player and the game at that point. It doesn't even feel good baiting out the rage out, it's a complete turn off to the match.
@SeveredWorldLore it mostly sucks because they changed RA super armor start up from i6 in T7 to i3 in tekken 8. So it allows them to get a positional advantage for a RA trade with frametrapping where in t7 it wouldn't allow that.
If you are ass and you lost your health lead, you naturally should loose the round. If you are good but made some mistakes in a round. Use your actual skill to take back the round. Game developers please it’s not that hard to understand. The magic of comeback is to make good decisions under stress with no room for mistakes. Not yolo mashing that give you advantage for being bad.
Beacause t7 long defensive gameplay, explosive moment is rarely happen. But in t8, that kind of moment is not that satisfying anymore. T8 explosive moment like heat smash into 50/50, heat dash into 50/50 is always happens every round. In t7, people mostly just spacing and poking. We don't know what big moment gonna happen, we can't predict it. But in t8, most people know what's going to happen. People just like "oh he's gonna use heat smash/dash" (Maybe some things wrong about my opinion, and forgive my bad english😂)
for whatever reason, i dont remember getting any slo-mo clutch moment in tekken 8, i know its still in the game, but sometimes it feels like they removed that mechanic, why??
@@GBELCHIOR616 mixing opponents to death feels like I won a coinflip, not like I solved a chess problem with punishing moves correctly or sidesteping and whiff punishing. Most of the time I win with more than 70% of my health and the fact that rounds are so lopsided just feels too volatile.
I advocated for it and 1 heat / game as well to make the usage of both more tactical instead of just turning off your brain and mashing them because you’ll get them back next round anyway. The replies were overwhelmingly on the “gitgud” side
Its pretty much the new gen thing for SF and Tekken for the sake of player retention and raising popularity among casuals by giving them a chance to succeed without going into the really advanced stuff. I don’t hate it, and by looking at the numbers it’s working really well so far, but a no rage/heat online mode would be really nice. People killing me with their 1mm remaining health while i have around 30% health because i didn’t know they would read my mind and counter with a rage art that can’t be stopped with any attack can feel really garbage.
It would be awesome for dramatic effect if there was a slow-mo or a camera change for the final hit. I’m not talking about a comeback mechanic-just something extra for the final hit to make it feel more epic. Your comeback was great, but a little added flair for the win would be cool.
@@cherryboywriter6299 "from what people say" so you werent there? Game was fun. That's the reason it grew over time. Didn't have a disappointing start.
Damn it’s interesting that there was a scrubby silent majority secretly seething that tekken 7 movement took skill and required absurd hours in training mode.. hence heat and training wheel mechanics introduced
I disagree, because this video could have just as easily been about Tekken 5 DR. Games change over time, systems evolve etc, but making this kind of a comeback in Tekken 5 felt the same way. You dont get that anymore because of the comeback mechanics games have these days
Recoverable health and Heat Dash needs to go. Maybe even Heat Bursts. Heat Engagers and Heat Smashes are fun though, they make things more hype. Maybe the Smashes need their damage toned down, but that's it.
If VF6 makes it big somehow, it will just join the cycle. SF6 players bash their own game for “bleeding players outside of japan (biggest fighting game ever btw), perfect parry ruins it, drive system ruins it, garbage balance” same with Tekken 8 about heat, rage, balance, bleeding players (second biggest), etc. They will find a way to bash every single game they play because for some reason they refuse to just have fun or refuse to move along if they can’t have fun. The only time they can praise something is when the next game inside the franchise comes out. I remember all the Tekken 7 nonstop whining about everything that was in it.
@arpadszabo661 I mean, I'm a 09er LOVED sf4. But I hate the current state of sf6. Ive barely played season 2 even though I really like bison and Terry being in as someone who grew up with cvs 2 is huge. I just hate how the combos work and general drive rush meta. I know it's huge in Japan that's why they're focusing on the avatar trash instead of actual costumes.

I agree. Playing this 18 year old version of VF is what made me realize it. I could have had the same experience and realization playing TEKKEN 5. The game I played that gave me this feeling isnt what Im talking about here.
People usually overhype the “straight hands, no mechanics, just skill” part of it, and then they realize that its the exact reason why the franchise never made it to the heights of SF and Tekken
Nah this is way more exciting than watching someone have to hold back for 20 seconds against jins heat smash and dive kicks. Genuine hype>artificial hype
VF rules I think old school players can really connect with the game if the game gets a chance

I prefer the loss being strictly based on your skill to comeback and adjust per round rather than using magic to make up the skill difference.

100%
By the same token, it feels good not to be robbed by chip damage.
The tekken fanboys in this comment section are obviously butthurt that nobody likes Tekken 8 right now judging by the rude comments here.
T8 be like "here's an RPG, a tank & a nuke. you can use 1 or all 3." & any of those options make it way too easy & common i.e boring as hell.
Good video. I wish we could just fight the other guy without all these unnecessary mechanics everywhere.

The funny part is that Tekken has this already but you never see NEARLY as much in T8 because of how recoverable health/chip/Heat works.
i also find the comeback is hyper the more interaction you had to lose in a row to get to that point .
