One can only 'react' to an 'action', and when you barely know the background of the film or the sentiments attached with this dastardly act of killing unarmed Indian soldiers in their sleep, you can hardly give a fair or even a 'required' reaction. The entire nation was in outrage and widows of the brave soldiers veiled, their cries ringing in the ears of millions of Indians. This jingoism is actually an understatement. The actual surgical strike wud have given you goose bumps. That was a different level altogether and one must watch the world media and what they had to say about the dare devil surgical strike India did on Pakistan, replying in the language they understand better. Terrorism is real. God forbid, but wait till it hits you like it's bleeding India, every moment every second for decades. We know it!

When you loose 19 of your brothers sleeping to terrorists, taking action striking the enemy deep into his territory in retribution for it doesnt seem jingoistic one bit. The indian commandoes air dropped in the pakistani territory, carried out a precision raid on those cowards, killed 46 terrorists and were back across the line of control to the indian side before the dawn leaving no man behind. Not a single commando was lost, one commando got hit in the leg but still the team managed to leave no one behind.

You feel the patriotism and that love for your country from the moment you sit down to watch it, it continues all the way until the credits come rolling. The first half of the movie provides Vicky Kaushal's character Vihaan, all the more rage and reason to fight for his country. You start to feel as though you are a part of his loving family as well, which is why when his brother in law, the girl's dad dies, the audience cannot help but bawl out their eyes. Through all this grief, the young girl yells out the war cry of her father's battalion filling you up with so much anger and grief, revenge must be taken. The second half of the movie sits you on the edge of the seat, watching their every move as though you're right there with them. The strategy building, the training they undergo builds up the Josh (the spirit, energy) every frame. Finally as they depart for their mission and are faced with an obstacle seconds before they enter into enemy territory, you find yourself nail bitting in nervousness. In the end, hearing the words Mission Accomplished with zero casualties makes you feel so happy and proud, it's a feeling I can't describe in words. You guys have to have to have to watch it! No doubt the action sequences, direction and production are absolutely top class. And every single actor has given it their best performance ever. Hella proud of the Indian Army, The Navy, The Airforce, Border Security Forces, RAW, CRPF and all the other institutions that we don't even know exist, who fight everyday, putting their lives on the line to keep us safe. This movie is not a movie. It's real life.

Your fishing ancestors looted us. We had patriotic leaders then who won us independence and similarly, we have selfless soldiers now who will defend us at the cost of their lives.
Remember, our soldiers laid down their lives in both the world wars for your country's jingoistic egos. That is what jingoism is. There was no need for you to enter the war, let alone use soldiers for your selfish purposes.
If defending your country and avenging the death of your loved ones is called 'jingoism', then so be it. You'll never get it. It's just not another film. It's a story of one of the greatest ever and most well-executed surgical strikes in all of history.

I'm an Indian and it does look a little forced but this is something that really happened. I don't think with commandos so much emotions are involved though. They're professionals who usually are very efficient and like to keep a low profile. I mean, it's a movie, so what can you expect? If you want this story to be told straightforward there's actually a very nice documentary about the whole thing on History TV I believe. You will find it on TH-cam as well.

Facts are going to stay facts it doesn't matter if you like it or not. You people seriously think we will kill our own jawaans? Our own brothers? They left their family, their parents, their siblings, most importantly their children. They won't be able to be there for their children. They won't be able to see their first walk, first word, first day of school and you are here abusing us. While you are abusing us, you don't even realise you are making a fool out of yourself. Don't you understand?. I will never use any foul language against Pakistan because I won't bring myself down to that level. Every country is good in their own ways. It may interest you to know that before Syria, the Indo-Pak border was the most conflicted/dangerous area in the world. There are constant border skirmishes, and both governments continually blame each other. I'm Indian, so my government points the blame to Pakistan and I'm sure, vice-versa. So I guess a little 'jingoism' is warranted given the history.

    Dear team
I am sorry to say but when there was WTC attack, USA responded by invading Afghanistan the same way India has been tolerating such attack since its Independence not only by Pakistan funded terrorism but also other Terrorist organisation, who does not know the meaning of life and humanity.
I must remind you regarding one of the most terrifying and horrible terrorist attack on humanity which was executed on 26/11, at Mumbai. Even after that we Indians seek Justice for our Martyrs and the innocent civilians who lost their life that night not by any violent retaliation but by the way of diplomacy and law. The handler of Mumbai attack belongs to a Terrorist Organisation which is not only funded by the Pakistani sources, also they are having their launchpads, camps and HQ in Pakistan. Even after several denials for support we did not get violent. But Uri attack was enough for us we Indians cannot be taken for granted. We don't want.war it will destroy humanity and us at once. But we know how to hurt precisely and make an impact.
Indians are known for Non Violence. But when someone tries sneeks inside our house to hurt us, we Indians know how to make them suffer. And you might think it as Jingoistic but this is real Patrotism.
We just want peace. No blood shed.

Excuse me but it is anything but jingoism.... you’re unaware about how passion flows in an Indian soldier and it’s wrong to define it as jingoism. It’s patriotism and that’s how the spirits of the troops are kept alive.... mind you this is a surgical strike and not a sightseeing trip.

Idc if this trailer paints India as violent because it's necessary and Indians might be jingoistic but towards just one country and that's all.

the surgical strike was NOT on civilians. It was only targeted on terrorist camps who attacked India first and martyred our soldiers So I dont see anything jingoistic about it.

    • @wtfaiwpodcast

I don't know, man. Referring to fallen soldiers as martyrs seems kind of jingoistic to me.

@@wtfaiwpodcast those soldiers gave their lives for India. They protect our borders from pakistani extremists terrorists who attack innocent people, for no reason. Its because of our soldiers that we Indians are living a peaceful life. Remember for this you need to know about the Kashmir issue. Anyway our soldiers who stay away from their family for so many years, just so that we citizens can live a peaceful life.

I think the way Americans view their army vs the way we Indians view our army are very different. We have great pride in our army because every single day there are Indian soldiers who get killed by unprovoked crossfire shooting initiated by pak army either directly or through terrorists and its sad to read that in the newspaper. For us they are our real heroes. REMEMBER our indian soldiers has never attacked nation first neither we have initiated any wars. We have only been attacked by our bad neighbours mostly Pakistan.

This is a country that stayed quiet and peaceful even when the bastard's from beyond the borders attack us, we are a nation of great pride sir and I am proud of our patriotism even if it's aggressive because we know we have stayed cool and silent long enough.
A single request, please don't speak rashly about the things not known to you, it may hurt certain people's sentiments.

So the dialogues seems jingoistic to you. Its okay but he is talking to those men's who are gonna do the dirty deeds for their country, to serve the country. He is not talking to any common citizen who get to sleep because they die out there some where in war land. They must get pumped and no soldier should have feeling if he is doing right or wrong killing people out there who attacked sleeping unarmed soldiers and for that being JINGOISTIC is important. I am not from India, I am from their neighboring country Nepal and I absolutely loved it when I saw it on theater and trust me I was 0% Jingoistic after watching this movie. It was just there to show how the real hero's get power to give their lives for country.
