Do you recommend any places that might be better? Somewhere with trails, shops, good food,, a gym... like a city close to or in the Mountains... I'm trying to find the best of both worlds ??
@@MrBiggharv Oh! Good question. Breck is an AWESOME choice! But if you are looking for a great place that can work almost like a central hub in the mountains with other towns less than 45 min away, I would recommend Dillon or Silverthorne. Very central. Very easy to get to and from. And best of all, it's sooo close to about a dozen other awesome CO mountain towns.
I grew up in Manitou after ww2 and from the mid 50s thru the mid 60sfrom elem to us..Manitou mustangs .. and my mother ran the cliff house hotel 60 thru 65..we lived behind cliff house on Canon Ave the penny arcade was started by bingo Jack kerns in the 50s he had 3 sons that are obviously the owners now they got slot of new older kids rides and other machines now packed in on the sidewalk new paint lettering..etc but the arcade in it's orig state was my daily hangout in summer since fall thru winter untill early spring it was closed down.kennys cafe was next door and the best rest.in town ..only other place was the Dutch oven by sodasprings park owned by Mike Flynn's family and Patsy's now in arcade is nothing at all to what it used to be..the new owner who got it in the late 70s TOOK OUT the mechanized Swiss Baker figure which made the Taffy now he buys it from a place in colo springs it's junk you people will never taste the fresh warm delicious Taffy that they made fresh daily..thesold us three pics for a dime in my gener there..that's right
@@HashtagColoradoLife yes they have.. and it's depressing.. the old Cliff House is tacky remodeled ridiculously expensive it's filled with liberal Dems lesbian bar up by sodasprings park owned by former mayors lesbian daughter..pioneer bar is homosexual everybody's smokin weed most don't have real jobs tryin to make the summer the yearly income in their small shops Alot of homeless ..my old Manitou is gone forever..they put lipstick on a pig..it's still a small little town with alot of older dumpy bldgs and small cottages few places to live made rents and availability expensive summer in Manitou is everything rest of the year it's dead..don't get skiiers so no steady income for merchants fall to spring .
There are individual rooms and buildings that have their own thing. Example: pool tables in one, air hockey in another, olde timey nickle games in another. But very much all in the same area.

It's funny. I have heard people pronounce that word so vastly different I actually thought they were two entirely different words and wasn't just me mispronouncing the same word. 😓
Hmm...Doesn't leaving those arcade machines outside 24/7 ruin them? Electronics, wood, and plastic don't like moisture and harsh outdoor environments. These machines were designed to be stored indoors.
Yes, I'm sure the weather does wear on them but at least they're covered when outdoors. Also, Colorado is pretty dry so there's not a ton of moisture, only certain times of year.
My kids love Manitou Springs! But parking is a nightmare. Even if you find parking, you have to parallel park under pressure in tiny spaces 😳 I suggest getting an uber to save the headache. Great video!

Yes, that is true about the parking situation. We find that it's easier to find parking during the week and not on weekends too. Thanks for the tips!
