    Why ladder drills?
    1. Most effective warm-up method
    In a few minutes of ladder drill, you will achieve your warm-up goals, i.e. increase heart rate, warming-up of muscles and ligaments and improved reaction time.

    This ain’t agility. Agility is change occurring due to reaction. This is choreographed drills which doesn’t improve anything other than getting good at ladders. Kindly don’t spread misinformation.

      Thanks for your feedback, this will help us improve, but I would like to clarify one thing here, nothing is choreographed, this is one of the training sessions, where you can see best of Karnataka kabaddi players. There is no misinformation and you are right, if you get good at ladders your agility will automatically improve.

      Btw, agility is reactive. The drills in the video is closed skill( choreographed or pre planned . The athletes know what to do, there is no reaction to stimulus). We can call this change of direction drills rather than agility.

      Agility has 3 components. Initiation, actualisation and transition happening between athlete, the environment and constraints placed upon. In Kabbadi it’s reaction to opponents that’s agility. Moving around cones and ladder can be termed as low impact jumps trianing and change direction drills. Terminology matter coach ! I won’t say these drills are worthless , but not best use of training time even during early offseason. Perhaps can serve as improving work capacity of ankle complex and lower legs .
