Good stuff, the solder is going to be drawn in from the heat so it's better to heat the fittings where the solder needs to wick towards and you don't burn the finished wall or skirting!

Nothing finer than soldering fittings,press fit and everything else serves a purpose but but for pure aesthetic reasons end feed all day ,for me anyway

I think the phrase you’re looking for is polishing a turd. Hate those jobs. As soon as something leaks/doesn’t work it’s “well it worked before you touched it”
Bit surprised to see 8mm pipework being reused in a renovation. Surely better to re-pipe some of that in 22/15 to make it a bit more ready for low-temp heating? Rads looked pretty small, too.
Im a diyer do my own plumbing etc Fitted 2 new rads recently i use loctite 55 string for tails no leaks ,but see lots of plumbing use the Blue liquid am i just lucky or should i convert to the Blue liquid for fitting tails
Lucky with the designer radiator that the flow was right there a nightmare when you go to a job and boiler or heating is drained and having to explain if it’s a double can flip it but the singles should get rid of the baffle
Another fab video there sir. I am a plumber myself and need to start swapping out old type 11 rads for 21’s throughout our house. It’s quite a large house. I have had nightmares balancing it all out and still don’t think it’s right. We have a lift conversion also, with two 600 x 800 rads ups there. The pipework is coming from the rear of the house as that’s where the oil boiler is. I hear hissing sounds from the lock shield in the bathroom, nearest to the boiler. Do you find shutting the lock Shield to almost closed will get the furthest rads hotter and remain hot? It’s a real tricky system to balance out over 3 Levels Mark. Suggestions appreciated as I struggle to balance efficiently. Cheers

Press can not get close to the wall and the long fitting sweeps is a big problem.😮. I rarely use pro press plus the fittings are expensive.

Customer just wanted to refit the rads… all the stuff I did was in 15mm as you saw 👍🏼👍🏼

Use what works for you and you trust mate… that’s what I’ve always done

I use a domestic kitchen fire blanket when I'm soldering that close. There only a few quid & fold up neatly. 👍

Something that size needs very fine tuning and balancing….. lock them down then half/full turn and work your way along

Can take a lot of fine tuning
The auto balancing valves are a good shout in those scenarios, How many radiators is there in the house?
