Add the standard problem of fertile imaginations & brief glimpses of common shy animals. the chances of sound informed sightings are miniscule. The fact enthusiasts double down when obvious foxes (seem the main culprit) are explained shows obsession, not objectivity. Their assertions to the contrary (e.g. the comments section), usually with ludicrous explanations, serve to make any reports treated as fake. And one just might be genuine. And it won't be from the thylacine fraud channel content commercial evangelists, they can't even find many of the extant rare species, or identify such oddities as foxes & dogs & cats. Despite the claims of many who somehow seem to repetitively find evidence. Of course, not available for the conspirators in wildlife research to verify of reject.
