    I’ve got a Mk2 Cerb 4.2 and I’m lead to believe TVR were losing so much money rebuilding Speed Sixs all the V8s were 4.5s with different inlet manifolds. I’m lead to believe I’ve got a 4.5 with a 4.2 induction system. It had no trouble keeping up with the Lamborghini press cars at Goodwood in 2018 though whatever is in it. Hit some pretty scary speeds on the M40!

      Hi Stu. Hope your enjoying your Mk2. This is what I was lead to believe aswell- I think throttle bodies play a role too. So if these and the inlet manifold are changed you've got a 4.5. Excellent cars!

    The sound of the TVR Cerbera is so glorious. Great Video.

      Especially when you upgrade the exhaust which is what I did. I don’t own a Cerbera can’t afford one, but I do have a Chimera with the Rover 4.0 V8 and it sounds sweet.

    Lol... Just came over here from Harry's Garage and recognised the background... Perhaps the first time a throaty V8 TVR has been filmed on Foxhall Road of all places! Love the sound and the locale 👍

    I’ve had I Mine nearly a year now and its 2nd cerb I’ve owned, I Love it it’s a beast and a joy to drive. Gets so much attention it’s untrue. And it can shift.

    The Cerbera V8 was used as the sound for the BMW M3 GTR in NFS Most Wanted

    Give it a couple of years you'll be Lucky to find one in the UK as American fans will export them under their classic 25 years rule. Chimps and Griff's are already going. I've got a 97 4.2 for sale in Australia.

  • @GT-fh5no
    @GT-fh5no 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Did I just enter a parallel universe?, I had a 97 4.5 cerb, bought in 2005, hands down the most breathtaking car I've ever owned, first service I took it to a well known specialist with a service and a full A4 sheet of things to fix, 2.5k later it was transformed, however after having it remapped partly recommended in order to kick the cooling fans in sooner to stop it over heating in traffic, also rolling road showed it as 360bhp, which was a tad less than 420 it should be, which was a standard thing on pisto heads tvr enthusiasts, I only used it as my second car, even then I'd notice somthing going wrong with it every few outings, I sold it when tvr went bust, guy who bought it sent a specialist in tvrs to give it a serious look over, who said it was in good condition.
    That reminds the thing with MOTs, have to take them to a tvr friendly testing garage as they fail on emissions straight out the factory, also specialist showed me a big split under the left rear wheel arch which was the fuel line..... Other than all that I absolutely loved that car to death, nothing like it

    More than 20 years, and still looking breathtaking... And absolutely fast! Fantastic beast man. This one was on sale on AutoTrader right?

    What exhaust setup is in that car? That doesn't sound much like the AJP8 that I hear elsewhere.

    • @QuickShiftTV2024
      @QuickShiftTV2024  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's an awesome sound! Comes from the ACT performance cat-back exhaust system. Also has some ACT induction bits to aid intake. The idle has a burble like no other car. Thanks Organo!

    • @matty6848
      @matty6848 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@QuickShiftTV2024 yes the ACT performance exhaust is definitely the best one too go for. My friend has a 4.5 Cerbera and he had the ACT kit fitted to his and the sound is like night and day from the stock exhaust, not too mention the performance he’s got out of it..

      If you don’t want to stretch that far or can’t afford too like me, you can pick up a good condition Chimera with the 4.0 Rover V8 and although not as quick as the Cerbera with the right exhaust upgrade, they sound awesome. I paid £9995 for my Chimera, good condition all over albeit the drivers seat is cracked, the rest of the interior is in good condition along with the roof. I also 3 months warranty which was peace of mind. I’ve had it for over a year now and had no major issues with it yet. Servicing is cheaper than a Cerbera as well. I drove it the first day from the garage in London, all the way back too Worcester and had no problems on its maiden voyage. The only cheap Cerberas you’ll find are non runner, barn finds. Truth is you just don’t know what your letting yourself in for?
